Abstract
Description
The invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to methods for producing coated zirconia particles, which are used for the manufacture of refractory products, composite high-temperature materials. The material obtained by sintering a powder of zirconia partially stabilized in a tetragonal modification with yttrium oxide (5%) and containing up to 20% aluminum oxide (to prevent grain growth) has increased crack resistance and flexibility. Moreover, the grain size is significantly affected by the grain size of zirconium dioxide; therefore, recently, much attention has been paid to the development of methods for producing ultrafine powders (UDP). Minimum grain size can be obtained using UVP coated with alumina, which limits the growth of zirconia grains.
Известны различные способы получения УДП диоксида циркония, стабилизированного оксидом иттрия с добавкой оксида алюминия. Золь-гель метод позволяет получать УДП заданного химического и фазового состава, однако недостатком метода является то, что образуются частицы неправильной формы (так называемые фракталы), содержащие множество перемычек, что затрудняет получение материала с плотностью, близкой к теоретической. Кроме того, использование для осаждения порошка реактивов загрязняет УДП органическими и другими примесями. There are various methods for producing UDP of zirconia stabilized with yttrium oxide with the addition of alumina. The sol-gel method allows one to obtain UDP with a given chemical and phase composition, however, the disadvantage of this method is that particles of irregular shape (the so-called fractals) are formed, containing many jumpers, which makes it difficult to obtain material with a density close to theoretical. In addition, the use of reagents for the deposition of powder contaminates UDP with organic and other impurities.
The known method of plasma-chemical denitration in a high-frequency discharge makes it possible to obtain UDP of a stabilized zirconia of sufficient frequency. As a result of electron microscopy, it was found that the main morphological components of the powder are polycrystalline hollow spheres and their fragments (films); the average size (diameter) of the spheres is 770 nm, the grains in them are 31 nm. The composition contains transparent quasi-amorphous spheres of aluminum oxide. However, this method is characterized by low productivity and does not provide the required powder morphology, not to mention the lack of coverage.
Наиболее близким по технической сущности к заявляемому является способ получения частиц диоксида циркония с покрытием, включающий получение УДП диоксида циркония и нанесение покрытия иттрия или щелочно-земельного металла при гидролизе соли металла, введенной в исходную систему на основе диоксида циркония, приготовленную в присутствии органической диспергирующей добавки в щелочной среде (при pH > 7). Размер получаемых частиц УДП с покрытием составляет 200 500 нм. Closest to the technical nature of the claimed is a method for producing particles of zirconium dioxide coated, comprising obtaining UDP zirconium dioxide and coating yttrium or alkaline earth metal by hydrolysis of a metal salt introduced into the initial system based on zirconium dioxide, prepared in the presence of an organic dispersing additive in an alkaline environment (at pH> 7). The size of the resulting particles of UDP with a coating of 200 to 500 nm.
Недостатком способа является получение частиц большого диаметра, которые не позволяют проявиться размерным эффектам стабилизации тетрагональной фазы, проявляющимся при диаметре около 20 нм, а также необходимость применения специальной диспергирующей добавки, которая может загрязнить УДП сажей и другими продуктами пиролиза, ведет к увеличению длительности процесса и изменению режима отжига. The disadvantage of this method is to obtain particles of large diameter, which do not allow the size effects of stabilization of the tetragonal phase to manifest themselves at a diameter of about 20 nm, as well as the need to use a special dispersing additive that can contaminate the UDP with soot and other pyrolysis products, leading to an increase in the duration of the process and annealing mode.
Заявляемый способ обеспечивает повышение свойств УДП диоксида циркония с добавками оксидов алюминия и иттрия благодаря получению УДП со слоистой структурой и сферической формой частиц, повышению дисперсности порошка до размера частиц 40 и менее нм. The inventive method provides an increase in the properties of UDP of zirconium dioxide with the addition of aluminum and yttrium oxides due to the formation of UDP with a layered structure and spherical shape of the particles, increasing the dispersion of the powder to a particle size of 40 or less nm.
Предлагаемый способ получения ультрадисперсного порошка диоксида циркония с покрытием, включающий измельчение частиц и нанесение на них покрытий из оксидов металлов отличается тем, что измельчение и нанесение покрытия осуществляют одновременно при испарении под воздействием лазерного излучения мощностью 0,5 -5,0 кВт и давлении 1 101 кПа. The proposed method for producing ultrafine zirconium dioxide powder with a coating, comprising grinding particles and applying coatings of metal oxides, characterized in that the grinding and coating is carried out simultaneously during evaporation under the influence of laser radiation with a power of 0.5 -5.0 kW and a pressure of 1 101 kPa
The claimed method is as follows. A prepared target from a mixture of powders of zirconium, aluminum, and yttrium oxides of conventional technical dispersion is exposed to a focused laser beam, for example, an LTU-05-01 infrared laser operating on CO 2 . To impart rigidity to the target, preliminary sintering of the initial powder is possible. In the area of the beam, the formation of a bath of melt and the evaporation of a mixture of oxides. Vapors condense on a cooled metal substrate in the form of conglomerates of UDP. The resulting powder is a spherical particle with an average diameter of 13 to 40 nm. Complex electron microscopy, X-ray phase and electron-graphical analyzes showed that the obtained particles have a layered structure: the core of the particle consists of a solid solution of yttrium oxide and zirconia, and the outer shell is an X-ray amorphous alumina. This structure of particles coated with alumina is ideal for producing dense ceramics with a minimum grain size of zirconium dioxide.
Диапазон варьирования мощности (0,5 5 кВт) выбран, исходя из минимальной мощности, при которой начинается процесс испарения керамики, и максимальной мощности имеющегося лазера. Верхний и нижний пределы давления в реакторе (1 101 кПа) выбран, исходя из соображений технологичности процесса, при более низком давлении снижается производительность процесса и увеличиваются затраты на откачку газа, увеличение давления выше атмосферного (101 кПа) увеличивает размер частиц УДП. The range of variation of power (0.5 to 5 kW) is selected based on the minimum power at which the process of evaporation of ceramics begins and the maximum power of the existing laser. The upper and lower limits of pressure in the reactor (1 101 kPa) are selected based on considerations of the technological process, at a lower pressure, the productivity of the process decreases and the cost of pumping gas increases, an increase in pressure above atmospheric (101 kPa) increases the particle size of the UDP.
Пример 1. Example 1
Мишень из спеченной смеси 75% ZrO2, 5% Y 2O3 и 20% Al2O3 в виде стержня диаметром 7 мм, расположенного горизонтально, подвергали испарению воздействием горизонтального лазерного луча инфракрасного углекислотного лазера. Порошок осаждался на расположенную выше подложку из меди. Мощность лазерного излучения составила 0,5 кВт, давление в реакторе 101 кПа.A target from a sintered mixture of 75% ZrO 2 , 5% Y 2 O 3 and 20% Al 2 O 3 in the form of a rod with a diameter of 7 mm, located horizontally, was subjected to evaporation by the action of a horizontal laser beam from an infrared carbon dioxide laser. The powder was deposited on an upstream copper substrate. The laser radiation power was 0.5 kW, and the pressure in the reactor was 101 kPa.
Полученные порошки исследовали на установке рентгенофазового анализа ДРОН-ЗМ с кобальтовым излучением, на электронных микроскопах JEM-10SX и УЗМВ-100К и на спектрографе ДФС-458 С. Химический состав полученного УДП был близок к составу мишени, средний диаметр частиц составлял 40 нм. Внешний вид частиц порошка под электронным микроскопом показан на чертеже на котором видно, что частицы имеют сферическую форму. The obtained powders were studied on a DRON-3M cobalt-ray X-ray diffraction analysis apparatus, on JEM-10SX and UZMV-100K electron microscopes, and on a DFS-458C spectrograph. The chemical composition of the obtained UDP was close to the composition of the target, the average particle diameter was 40 nm. The appearance of the powder particles under an electron microscope is shown in the drawing, which shows that the particles have a spherical shape.
Example 2. The target composition indicated in example 1, in the form of a powder poured into the bath, was exposed to an infrared laser beam directed at an angle of 30 o to the vertical. The ultrafine powder was deposited on a stainless steel surface at the same angle. The laser radiation power was 2.0 kW, the gas pressure in the reactor was 1 kPa. The particles of the obtained ultrafine powder had a spherical shape, their average size was 13 nm. The analysis confirmed the presence of a layered structure in the particles of obtained UDP.
Пример 3. Example 3
Мишень состава, указанного в примере 1, в виде порошка, насыпанного в ванночку, подвергали действию инфракрасного лазера аналогично примеру 2, УДП осаждался на поверхность из нержавеющей стали. Мощность лазерного излучения составила 5,0 кВт, давление в реакторе 101 кПа. Получен УДП со сферической формой частиц, средний размер которых 40 нм. Анализ подтвердил наличие слоистой структуры у частиц полученного УДП. The target composition shown in example 1, in the form of a powder poured into the bath, was exposed to an infrared laser as in example 2, the UDP was deposited on a stainless steel surface. The laser radiation power was 5.0 kW, and the pressure in the reactor was 101 kPa. Received UDP with a spherical particle shape, the average size of which is 40 nm. The analysis confirmed the presence of a layered structure in the particles of the obtained UDP.
The thermodynamic and kinetic calculations of the process of condensation of oxide vapors with a high boiling point suggest the formation of a layered structure when two components condense, one of which melts at a lower temperature than the melting temperature, or sublimation of the other component. This allows us to speak about the applicability of the developed method for producing UDP, which allows obtaining UDP with a layered structure not only for a mixture of zirconium, yttrium and aluminum oxides, but also for other combinations of carbamide oxides and other compounds used in the manufacture of ceramics.
