Abstract
Description
The invention relates to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology.
The objective of the invention is to increase the effectiveness of treatment of vasomotor rhinitis, reduce treatment time and lengthen the remission of the disease.
A known method of treating vasomotor rhinitis using medications, in particular synthetic immunomodulator levomesol (Zabolotny Yu. I. Kravchuk TP, Clinical and immunological study of the effectiveness of topical use of levalizole in the treatment of patients with chronic infectious allergic rhinitis (Ushn. Nose and throat pain . 1983, N 3, pp. 17-23), which, with certain positive results, can cause some complications, including contributing to the development of leukopiria, and in addition is effective only if significantly violation thymus-dependent immune system.
According to the invention, a method of treating vasomotor rhinitis instead of synthetic medicaments involves the use of a herbal preparation, namely, topical application of the infusion of leaves of the Catha edulis family of shrubs.
The method is as follows.
Using a syringe with a standard blunt-pointed cannula attached to it, an infusion of Catha edulis leaves is injected into the middle, lower and common nasal passages in an amount of 20 mg per procedure. The course of treatment is 7 10 days. daily. At the same time, an almost complete cessation of nasal discharge, sneezing, and itching in the nose is achieved, as well as a decrease in the volume of the nasal concha, against the background of significant improvements in cellular immunity for a period of more than 6 months.
In addition, overall hyposensitization of the body is achieved.
Example 1. Patient F., 37 years old, complained of constant nasal congestion, periodically bouts of sneezing and itching in the nose. Sick for 10 years. An immunological examination revealed a significant deficiency of T-helper blood, an imbalance of T x / T c , the ratio of the total number of blood T-cells, including "active" (EA-ROCK). There was a deterioration in the transport function of the whole epithelium of the nasal mucosa, pronounced eosinophilia of the nasal secretion. The patient is diagnosed with an allergic form of vasomotor rhinitis. After the course of therapy (7 rinses of the nasopharynx with infusion of Catha edulis leaves daily), after the second rinse, a subjective improvement in well-being, nasal breathing was noted; after treatment no complaints. Complete normalization of immunological parameters was noted; eosinophilia of nasal secretion and transport function of the nasal mucosa within normal limits. Remission over 6 months.
Example 2. A patient of 30 years old, complained of periodically obstructed nasal breathing, headaches, sleep disturbances, increased irritability and fatigue, frequent colds. Sick for 7 years. An immunological examination revealed minor violations of the lymphokine function of T-lymphocytes, impaired function of T-suppressors. Sensitization of lymphocytes to hemolytic staphylococcus streptococcus, violation of the phagocytic activity of neutrophils was revealed. Intense biphasic dermographism was noted.
The patient was diagnosed with a neurovegetative form of vasomotor rhinitis, accompanied by bacterial sensitization to staphylococcus and streptococcus antigens. After the treatment with Catha edulis infusion, complete normalization of nasal breathing, a significant improvement in well-being. No evidence of bacterial sensitization during immunological examination. Complete normalization of immunological parameters was noted. Remission over 6 months.
