The disadvantages of the known devices are that the cutting part of the frame is made straight, this can make it difficult for the knife to penetrate into a dense layer of snow. In addition, there is the problem of caked snow, which, after a temperature difference, can have a very dense and hard (ice) structure; using known devices, when cleaning the roof from such snow, there is a risk that the snow will melt away in a solid, heavy layer (since the devices do not contain elements that eliminate this problem), thereby it can fall on a person, causing damage to his health.

The challenge facing the author is to create a simpler snow-plowing device that makes it safer and more efficient to clear the roof of buildings from snow with less effort.

The problem is solved due to the essence of the device of the inventive scraper (snow cutter), which consists in a new shape of the cutting edge of the snow-cleaning frame fixed on a telescopic rod with a vertical knife attached to it.

The scraper is a U-shaped metal frame, in which the cutting edge (1) of the lower part (2) has a wedge-shaped shape, the tip of which is directed towards the movement of the device, thus, the front cutting point is located on the wedge-shaped edge of the lower part of the frame. The side parts (3) of the frame are made in the form of a rectangular trapezoid, the acute angle of which is located below the front (cutting) side of the frame. The cutting edge (4) of the side parts (3) of the frame is located at an angle to the cutting line, which reduces the applied forces when pushing the frame into the thickness of the snow. From above, the side parts (3) of the frame are interconnected by means of a strip (5), which does not allow the side parts (3) to diverge in different directions. On the surface of the lower part (2) of the frame, in the middle, there is a tulle (6), into which one end of the telescopic rod (7) is inserted and fixed, on which a vertical knife (8) is fixed, the cutting edge (9) of which is also located under an angle to the cutting line, to facilitate cutting in two of the snow block rolling down from the roof. Also, on the rear side of the lower part of the frame, with the help of a clamping bar, a sliding flexible material (10) is attached, which facilitates the snow from the roof.

The way the device works.

To clean the snow from the pitched roof of the house, the scraper cutting frame is installed at the lower edge of the roof and, from the ground, is pushed upwards towards the top of the roof using a telescopic rod (7). When the cutting frame moves, the front cutting point will begin at the tip of the cutting (wedge-shaped) edge (1) of the lower part (2) of the frame, this will create a concentrator for applying a load to the snow layer and easily pass the frame deep into, even through the thick, packed snow. Also, the side parts (3) of the frame, the cutting edges (4) of which are located at an angle to the cutting line, also facilitate easy cutting of the snow layer and the passage of the frame upward. As the frame moves up the roof (Fig.2a), the cut snow layer is additionally cut in two (Fig.2b, 2c) by a vertical knife (8) located outside the frame, while the divided halves of the layer change their trajectory, rolling into opposite sides (shown by arrows in Fig. 2d), moving away from the initial fall line on which the user stands. Cut snow off the roof is facilitated by a flexible, sliding material (10) attached to the rear of the frame.

Due to the shape of the cutting edges (1; 4), the scraper can effortlessly cut not only caked, but also hard, icy snow layer. A knife (8) installed outside the frame on a telescopic rod (7) contributes to greater efficiency in cutting snow and ensures safety for the user of the device when cleaning the roof from caked and icy snow. The extendable telescopic bar (7) is a one-piece device that allows you to clean the roof from a safe distance while standing on the ground.
