Abstract
Description
The invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to the production of intermetallic compounds based on highly dispersed (VDP) and ultrafine (UDP) metal powders.
It is known to obtain an intermetallic compound of copper and zinc, the chemical composition of which corresponds to the compound CuZn 5 under conditions of intense exoemission when a thin film of copper is applied to a zinc film [1]
The disadvantage of this method is that it is carried out in conditions of intense local heat generation at the interface, which greatly complicates and increases the cost of this process, since its implementation requires special equipment, the creation of special conditions and significant energy consumption. In addition, this method allows to obtain an intermetallic compound of copper and zinc only in the form of a thin film, which complicates the further technological processing of this compound.
The purpose of the invention is the creation of a method that allows you to reliably and effectively receive in the volume of the intermetallic compound of copper and zinc with high corrosion resistance.
The goal is achieved in that in the method for producing an intermetallic compound of copper and zinc, their powder mixture placed in the working chamber is affected by low-frequency sound vibrations with a ratio of amplitude and pulse frequency of 0.0781-0.0880, sound energy density (2.65- 3.6) × 10 6 J / m 3 and the acceleration of the movable part exciter pulses 205-300 m / s 2, then heat treated powder mixture is carried out at 220 ° C until the compound of crystallization.
X-ray phase analysis of a mixture of copper and zinc powders after low-frequency sound processing showed that solid-phase interaction proceeds in it without heating. The appearance of the intermetallic phase is judged by the diffraction pattern of the mixture. The chemical composition of the obtained compound corresponds to the compound CuZn 5 . Microscopic analysis showed that after sound processing, the powders become highly agglomerated. Moreover, due to the different dispersity of the particles in the powder mixture, many small particles of copper are adsorbed on larger particles of zinc.
Obviously, the sound effect on metal powders acts as alternating wave compression and tension and generates volumetric distortions of the lattice in the powder particles, which then come to their surface. Such surface activation causes coalescence of particles in the solid state. The formation of CuZn 5 is due to the fact that, upon sound exposure, the electron work function in the copper atom decreases, and additional valence electrons may appear on its outer orbitals. Therefore, one copper atom becomes capable of interacting with 5 zinc atoms.
The powder mixture of copper and zinc, subjected to sound processing, has certain physicochemical properties, namely: bulk density, flowability, surface tension, discreteness of the mixed powders, etc. Therefore, to ensure the efficiency and reliability of the preparation of the intermetallic compound from the powder mixture of copper and zinc it is necessary to ensure maximum effect on these properties of the powder mixture.
Thus, the choice of sound processing parameters (the ratio of the amplitude and frequency of the pulses, the density of sound energy and the acceleration of the moving part of the pathogen of pulses) is due to the maximum effect on the physicochemical properties of the powder mixture. In this case, maximum activation of the surface of the powder mixture is achieved and, therefore, mixing and significant intensification of the entire process for producing an intermetallic compound is ensured.
2.It is established that for the effective formation of an intermetallic compound, the chemical composition of which corresponds to CuZn 5 , the following parameters of sound exposure are necessary and sufficient: the ratio of the amplitude and frequency of the pulses is 0.0781-0.0880; density of sound energy (2.65-3.6) · 10 6 J / m 3 ; acceleration of the moving part of the pulse pathogen 205-300 m / s 2 .
Going beyond the lower limit of any of these parameters leads to a decrease in the efficiency of the process for producing an intermetallic compound of copper and zinc or, in general, to the impossibility of its formation. Going beyond the upper limit of any of these parameters, without improving the technical result obtained, leads to an unjustified increase in energy consumption.
The intermetallic phase formed as a result of the solid-phase interaction of copper and zinc powders is initially X-ray amorphous. After heat treatment at 220 ° C there is a marked increase in the intensity of intermetallic phase. Heat treatment is carried out until the crystallization of the compound is complete, as a result, an intermetallic compound of copper and zinc is obtained in the volume, and not in the form of a thin film.
Thus, the proposed method for producing intermetallic compounds of copper and zinc is more efficient and reliable compared to the known ones, since the choice of sound exposure provides its maximum effect on the physicochemical properties of the powder mixture; the sound effect on the powder mixture provides solid-phase interaction of its components without heating, at room temperature, which simplifies the process of obtaining the intermetallic compounds of copper and zinc and reduces material and energy costs for its implementation.
The resulting intermetallic compound has high corrosion resistance, which allows it to be used as an ideal planning coating. The possibility of using metallic powders of copper and zinc as initial products to obtain their intermetallic compounds allows us to obtain the latter in volume, and not in the form of a film, which makes it more convenient for its further technological processing.
The method is as follows.
Copper and zinc powders obtained by evaporation-condensation, respectively, of the PMVD-2 and PCVD grades are placed in a sealed working chamber (the mass of the powder mixture is 50 g), while the moving part of the pulse exciter, which is a mechanical, hydraulic, or electromagnetic generator, is placed in the chamber.
2.Further sound processing of the powder mixture for 5 minutes is carried out with a ratio of amplitude and pulse frequency of 0.0880 (A 4.0 mm; ω = 50 Hz), sound energy density of 3.6 · 10 6 J / m 3 and acceleration of the moving part of the accelerator pulses 300 m / s 2 .
At the end of the sound effects powder mixture discharged from the working chamber, and its heat treatment is carried out at 220 ° C. The heat treatment is carried out until complete crystallinity obtained intermetallic compound (SuZn 5), which structure is confirmed by chemical analysis. After a three-month exposure to air of the obtained compound at room temperature, no copper oxides were detected in it at all.
