Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the production of a fire-resistant hydraulic fluid based on esters of phosphoric acid, which may find application as a working fluid for hydraulic systems.
A hydraulic fluid is known in which triaryl phosphates obtained by phosphorylation of various alkyl phenols, namely cumyl phenols, styryl phenols, benzyl phenols, isopropyl phenols, xylenols and cresols, are proposed as a base.
A common drawback of tri-aryl phosphates based on cresols and xylenols is the lack of a wide raw material base for their production and the high toxicity of tricresyl phosphates. Cumyl, styryl, and benzyl phenol triaryl phosphates are highly viscous and insufficiently stable products. The production of isopropylphenol-based phosphoric acid esters is not provided with a raw material base.
The purpose of the invention is to increase fire resistance, hydrolytic stability and reduce the tendency to foam.
To increase fire resistance and reduce the toxicity of hydraulic fluid, a mixture of phosphoric acid esters of the general formula (4-tert. C 4 H 9 C 6 H 4 O) x (C 6 H 5 O) 3 x P = 0, where x = 1 or 2, of the following composition, wt.
0,5. (4-tert-butylphenyl) diphenylphosphate 70-95; di- (4-tert-butylphenyl) phenylphosphate 4.5-25.5; triphenyl phosphate 0.5.
The presence of a tert-butyl group in the aryl residue gives triaryl phosphates a number of valuable properties (high flash point and self-ignition, low pour point, high boiling point, good lubricating and viscosity properties, low toxicity), which make it possible to use them as a basis for the production of hydraulic fluids. To give the hydraulic fluid high hydrolytic stability, 0.05-0.2 wt. 2,6-ditretbutyl-4-methylphenol, which is also known as an antioxidant.
1. The effect of 2,6-ditretbutyl-4-methylphenol on the hydrolytic stability of the phosphate base is shown in Table 1.
In order to reduce the tendency to foaming, we suggest introducing 0.0005-0.005 wt. polymethylsiloxane.
In the table. 2 presents data on the effect of PMS-5-1000 polymethylsiloxane additive on the expandability of a hydraulic fluid.
In the table. 3 shows comparative data on the properties of the proposed hydraulic fluid and fluid prototype.
П р и м е р. 3.PRI me R. 750 g (5M) of 5-tert-butylphenol, 766 (5M) of phosphorus oxychloride and 15 g (2% by weight of phosphorus oxychloride) of anhydrous magnesium chloride are charged to a reactor equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer and a reflux condenser. The mixture was heated to 85 ° C and as the reaction temperature was gradually raised to 120 C. At 120 C was kept for 0.5 hours, then the reaction mixture was quenched to 70 ° C and added 940 g (10 mol) of phenol. The temperature as the reaction was raised to 140 ° C then held at 135-140 ° C for 1 hour at residual pressure of 250-400 mmHg The product is isolated by known techniques. 1570 g of a mixture of phosphoric acid esters are obtained. Yield 82% of theory. 1570 g of the obtained ether was loaded into a stirred reactor, 1.6 g of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol and 0.016 g (2 drops) of polymethylsiloxane PMS-5-1000 were added. Stirred at room temperature until the additives are completely dissolved. The properties of the resulting composition are presented in table.3.
