Abstract
Description
ж. The invention relates to the metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, in particular to processes for the processing of secondary aluminum raw materials, such as scrap, shavings, dross, charcoal, etc.
The problem of efficient processing of metal-containing waste is important in secondary metallurgy. The widespread process of salt smelting of secondary aluminum raw materials, for all its effectiveness, has a significant drawback in the formation of a significant amount of salt slag, the disposal or disposal of which is an intractable problem. Moreover, salt slags, due to their thickening, contain up to 20% of metal droplets entangled in them.
A known method of processing salt toxins from smelting aluminum containing wt. NaCl + KCl 40-80; Al less than 45; non-metallic compounds 5-55. The method includes filtering molten slag on a rotating drum filter, in which filter cloth of alumina fibers, oxides of other metals or graphite is used as a filter material. The precipitate from the drum filter is unloaded with a special knife, and the filtrate removed from the drum containing the molten mixture of salts and metal is separated by settling.
The disadvantage of this method is the complexity of the design of the filter apparatus, significant losses of flux and metal, as well as the need for leaching cake due to incomplete separation of precipitation and filtrate.
In addition, the described technical solution does not address the issue of processing aluminum-containing waste, while a significant part of the metal loss is associated with the processes of loading and melting of secondary raw materials.
A method of processing aluminum detachably removed from the surface of liquid aluminum or its alloys, which consists in loading them in a heated pot, filling it with the molten flux, consisting of a mixture of NaCl, KCl, AlCl 3, heating the mixture of fluxes and dismounting to 650-872 ° C. (preferably up to 760-872 about C) with vigorous stirring, sedimentation of the mixture and separate discharge of metal and slag.
The disadvantage of this method is the loading of rods in a heated smelting unit, which leads to increased oxidation of the metal; heating the mixture to a high temperature and, as a result, intensive decomposition and dust removal of the salt component from the smelting unit, an untreated scheme for the disposal of the resulting salt slag.
The closest in technical essence and the achieved results is a method for extracting aluminum from secondary raw materials, which consists in melting and heating a mixture of salts above the melting temperature of aluminum in a tank of a special design. Secondary raw materials are loaded into the molten mixture of salts, the aluminum is melted and separated with vigorous stirring from the molten salt, which is saturated to a content of less than 25% non-metallic impurities. Salt slag is downloaded by a centrifugal pump, impurities are separated on a special filter, and the molten salt is returned to the tank.
The disadvantage of this method is the high loss of salt melt with waste during filtration, metal oxidation with the introduction of secondary raw materials into the melt and, as a result, the formation of a significant amount of waste.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the extraction of metal, reduce the consumption of salt flux and reduce the amount of waste.
The object is achieved in that in the method of processing aluminum waste comprising melt fusing of salt fluxes, the introduction of the salt melt at 690-750 C. waste aluminum and their melting with stirring saturating the molten salt solids separated drain metal and salt melt, the separation from salt melt of solid inclusions with its subsequent direction for processing a new batch of waste, solid inclusions are separated from the salt melt by centrifugal filtration in slotted centrifuges. Moreover, the separation of solid inclusions is carried out either directly in the remelting furnace before or after the discharge of the metal, or when the salt melt is drained from the furnace, or in the piggy bank mixer after the salt melt is re-melted into it from the furnace. Smelting of aluminum waste is carried out at a ratio of salt melt: waste equal to (1.5-2.5): 1. The supply of waste to the volume of the salt melt is carried out by bringing the salt melt into rotation by any known method with the formation on the surface of the melt of a funnel with a depth of 0.05-0.15 diameter of the crucible for melting waste. In the case of separation of solid inclusions in a remelting furnace or in a piggy bank mixer, the operation is carried out using an immersion centrifuge, and the filtration is carried out with a separation factor of 5-50, and the extraction with a separation factor of 100-300. In the case of separation of solid inclusions during the overflow of salt melt, the operation is carried out using a pouring centrifuge with a separation factor of 80-350. Moreover, the separation factor is evenly increased from 80 at the beginning to 350 at the end of the filtration.
The ratio of salt melt: waste equal to (1.5-2.5): 1, provides a sufficiently fluid slag with a non-metallic component in the range of 7.5-12%. In this case, the slag practically does not contain metal. If the ratio is less than 1.5: 1, the slag viscosity increases significantly, which leads to an increase in flux loss during processing. If the ratio is more than 2.5: 1, then the same operation of refining salt flux by filtration is required for almost the same period of time as with significant contamination of the flux, but in order to extract a smaller amount of solids, which is not economically feasible.
The formation of a funnel with a depth of 0.05-0.15 of the crucible diameter when mixing on the melt surface is necessary, firstly, for intensively mixing a newly incoming portion of the waste into the melt volume in order to reduce metal oxidation, and secondly, for mixing the melt in order to separate the metal and non-metallic constituents of waste, coalescence of liquid metal droplets.
When a funnel is formed with a depth of less than 0.05 times the diameter of the crucible, the incoming waste, not mixing enough for a long time, is on the surface of the melt, in addition, a significant period of time is required for the separation of the metal and non-metal phases of the waste. With the formation of a funnel with a depth of more than 0.15 diameter of the crucible, a significant dust removal of the salt melt, its sprinkling, and there is a need for increased energy consumption for mixing the melt without a significant increase in the process indicators.
Giving the filter a submersible centrifuge a rotational speed that provides a separation factor in the zone of the filter gap during the set of 5-50, and during extraction 100-300, is necessary in order to ensure effective melt flow through the filter cavity in the first case and to squeeze out the remaining melt effectively in the second case precipitate the melt and get a dry filter cake.
In the case of rotation of the centrifuge during the set with a separation factor of less than 5, a sufficiently fast melt flow through the filter is not ensured, which increases the set time and, therefore, increases the duration of the salt flux processing operation. When rotating with a separation factor of more than 50, a slip of the solid phase through the filter slit and difficulties in the formation of a wash-out layer of the filter are observed.
During the operation "spin" with a separation factor of less than 100, a sufficiently effective separation of the phases does not occur and the liquid content in the precipitate can reach 50% or more. In the case of rotation of a centrifuge with a separation factor of more than 300, there is no significant improvement in the quality of the extraction with a significant increase in the energy consumption for bringing the filter into rotation.
The rotation of the pouring centrifuge at a speed that ensures a separation factor in the range of 80-350 in the filter slit zone is due to the need to pass a large amount of melt containing solid inclusions. In this case, it is necessary to ensure its fullest possible purification at a melt flow rate sufficient for the overflow operation through the filter to obtain a precipitate containing a minimum amount of liquid phase. The rationale for the limits of variation of the separation factor in a pouring centrifuge is the same as in the case of a submersible centrifuge.
The need to increase the rotation speed of the pouring centrifuge is due to the accumulation of solid sediment in the filter cavity and an increase in the thickness of the alluvial layer, which leads to difficulties in the flow of the melt through the filter and in the subsequent extraction of the sediment from the melt trapped in it.
The experiments were carried out in a resistance crucible furnace with a graphite chamotte crucible with a diameter of 500 mm and a capacity of 6 dm 3 . The metal or slag was drained by a centrifugal submersible pump with a graphite working element into a mixer of the same capacity and design as the furnace. Mixing of the melt was carried out by a submersible two-blade graphite mixer with a diameter of 80 mm with an adjustable rotation drive. Processing of the molten salt in the furnace volume was carried out with a PAFVS type submersible centrifuge with a filter diameter of 200 mm or with a molten overflow by a centrifuge with a filter diameter of 400 mm. Centrifuges had the ability to control rotation speeds from 0 to 2500 rpm.
When conducting experiments on the basic method for flux regeneration, the process of filtering the salt melt through a flat filter made of foam corundum with a thickness of 1.5 cm with a porosity of 75% under the influence of gravity of the melt with a height of 10 cm was used.
An equimolar mixture of sodium and potassium chlorides was used as salt flux, and screening from the processing of dross of AMg-type alloys at the Remetall installation with a 3 mm fraction was used as an aluminum-containing waste. The metal content in the waste was 82%. In all experiments, 50 kg of waste was smelted, varying the amount of salt flux.
The results of the experiments are shown in the table.
18,9-23,0% The degree of metal extraction during processing by the proposed technology increases by 2.7-5.2%, the content of the water-soluble component in the filter waste decreases by 27.5-32.3%, and the degree of flux recovery increases by 18.9-23.0%
