Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the metallurgy of alloys containing copper, tin, as well as nickel and boron, used as solders.
Widely known in metallurgy are solder alloys containing copper and tin as well as nickel as a base [1]
Of the solders described in the literature, the closest composition of the ingredients to the proposed alloy containing wt.
Tin 2.5-11,
Nickel 0-12,
Bor 11-15,
Copper Else [2]
Solder has a crystalline structure, a melting point of about 950 C. However, when soldering of thin metal products (thickness of 0.15-0.20 mm) for example pins framework of integrated circuits of H42 alloy (42% nickel, balance iron), the latter is embrittled due diffusion of boron, which reduces the strength of the findings in bending.
The objective of the invention is the creation of solder material, which allows to increase 4-6 times the strength of the findings in bending.
For this, molybdenum, manganese, sodium tetraborate and titanium are introduced into the solder based on copper and tin containing nickel and boron in the following ratio of components, wt.
Tin 18-22
Nickel 4-6
Boron 1.2-1.8
Molybdenum 0.4-0.6
Manganese 0.4-0.6
Sodium tetraborate 0.4-0.6
Titanium 0.4-0.6
Copper Else
The introduction of molybdenum and titanium reduces the diffusion of boron, tin and copper from the solder into the output and thereby reduces their embrittlement.
The introduction of nickel improves the plastic properties of the solder. The introduction of boron and sodium tetraborate provides solder fluxing properties, and the introduction of manganese lowers the melting point of the solder.
An increase in the content of molybdenum and titanium of more than 0.6 leads to a deterioration in the wettability of the solder, and a decrease in the content of molybdenum and titanium of less than 0.4 does not provide the protective properties of the conclusions from the diffusion of boron, copper and tin.
An increase in the nickel content of more than 6% leads to an increase in the melting temperature of the solder, and a decrease of less than 4% leads to a decrease in its plastic properties.
An increase in boron content of more than 1.8% and sodium tetraborate more than 0.6% leads to embrittlement when soldering the findings. A decrease in boron content of less than 1.2 and sodium tetraborate less than 0.4% does not provide solder fluxing properties.
An increase in the manganese content of more than 0.6% leads to a deterioration in the wettability of the solder, and a decrease of less than 0.4% leads to the appearance of gas shells in the solder after crystallization.
Strips of solder material were made from the proposed alloy by powder metallurgy, which were then used for soldering integrated circuits in ceramic-metal cases. It was made five mixtures of powders with a content, wt.
In addition, a prototype solder mixture with a content, wt.
The powder mixtures were rolled on a Duo-70 twin-roll mill in strips with a cross section of 0.4 x 80 mm. Laminated strip was sintered in a hydrogen atmosphere in a furnace-type CEP-272 on conditions of a temperature of 550 C, holding 30 min. Sintered bars were rolled to a thickness of 0.15 mm and heat treated at conditions of a temperature of 500 ° C, holding time 30 min.
Brazing pins of H42 alloy for integrated circuits in packages cermet performed in a hydrogen atmosphere at 900 C. The resulting samples were tested for pin gib with a bend. The test results are presented in the table.
From the table it follows that the proposed solder provides 4-6 times better strength conclusions on the bending of the alloy H42 compared to the solder prototype.
