Abstract
Description
The invention relates to technical physics, and in particular to methods of measuring the acoustic properties of sound-conducting media, in particular to measuring the speed of sound.
A known method of measuring the speed of sound, selected as a prototype, which consists in sounding a plane-parallel sample with a pulse-harmonic signal with a changing filling frequency, analyzing the parameters of transmitted and reflected signals, determining the frequencies corresponding to longitudinal and transverse waves, and, knowing the thickness of the sample, calculating longitudinal and transverse sound speeds.
However, this method cannot be used for all environments (for example, fractured, weak, porous rocks). In addition, there is some difficulty in implementing the method due to the alignment of the measuring setup with high measurement accuracy.
The purpose of the invention is the expansion of the range of studied objects and the simplification of the method.
This goal is achieved by the fact that additionally measure the parameters of the signal transmitted through the object in the direction perpendicular to the radiation direction, fix the frequency f 1 corresponding to the maximum amplitude of the harmonic signal in two mutually perpendicular directions, fix the frequency f 2 corresponding to the maximum amplitude of the signal passed through the object in a direction perpendicular to the radiation, and the minimum amplitude of signal in the radiation direction, and determine the longitudinal wave velocity V of direct relation Ia V ave = 2 ˙ h ˙ f 1 and shear velocity V sh of the ratio V sh = h ˙ f 2, wherein the thickness h of the object in the radiation direction.
7. The method is illustrated in the flowchart shown in the drawing. It contains a
The physical basis of the proposed method are as follows.
The frequency f 1 , which is the frequency of longitudinal sound vibrations, corresponds to the well-known monochromator effect. The effect of the monochromator is explained by the fact that due to interference there is an increase in the field passage through the sample in comparison with the field passage at other frequencies.
The frequency f 2 , which is the frequency of transverse sound vibrations, corresponds to the standing wave mode, however, unlike the monochromator mode, the intrinsic field in the plate is in antiphase with the external field. The antiphase of the intrinsic field to the exciting field is explained by the differentiating effect of the near-surface low-speed zones of the resonator layer. For an ideal plane-parallel sample at a frequency f 2 there is no field passage (only an orthogonal process is observed), which is the effect of resonant acoustic absorption. Since in the present invention the sample is not perfectly plane-parallel, an incomplete decrease in the signal amplitude is observed at the coaxial receiver.
The method is as follows.
Vпр=2 ˙ h ˙ f1;
Vсдв=h ˙ f2.
V ol = 2 ˙ h ˙ f 1 ;
V sdv = h ˙ f 2 .
As an example, the table shows the results of determination of V etc. and V sh in individual rocks.
Using the proposed method allows to simplify the determination of the longitudinal and transverse velocities of sound in a wide range of media, and especially in fragile, fractured, porous media, which include large classes of rocks.
