Abstract
Description
The invention relates to powder metallurgy and electrical engineering, in particular to materials for electrical contacts used in switching devices of the type: switches, relays, electromagnetic starters.
Current contact material for electrical contacts is silver or silver-based alloys and compositions.
Their main disadvantage is low electrical discharge resistance and mechanical strength, increased tendency to weld.
The closest in technical essence to the invention is a material for electrical contacts in the following ratio of ingredients, wt. %:
Zirconium 2.0-3.0
Yttrium oxide 0.3-1.0
Silver Else
A disadvantage of the known contact material is low hardness, strength and low electrical wear resistance.
The aim of the invention is to increase the microhardness and electrical discharge resistance of the sintered material.
This goal is achieved by introducing into a material based on silver containing yttrium oxide, cobalt oxide and graphite in the following ratio of ingredients, wt.%:
Cobalt oxide 0.5-2.0
Yttrium oxide 0.5-1.5
Graphite 1.0-2.0
Silver Else
The erosion resistance of the material is increased due to dispersed hardening of the silver matrix by cobalt and yttrium oxides; extinction of the electric arc by carbon dioxide CO 2 and carbon monoxide CO, resulting from the interaction of graphite and yttrium oxide; the formation of a heterogeneous structure of the material by particles having different melting, decomposition and sublimation temperatures, the creation of directed moving horizontal heat fluxes, as a result of which the part of the thermal energy accumulated by silver is reduced.
Твердость заявляемого материала повышается вследствие разложения окислов кобальта Со3О4 на составляющие Со2О3 и СоО, при температуре 1240оС (Со3)4 = =Со2О3 + СоО). Оксид кобальта Со2О3 повышает твердость серебряной матрицы и сохраняет ее мелкодисперсную микроструктуру; образования карбидов иттрия при 3700оС (2 Y2O3 + 6 С ->> Y4C3 + 3 СО2).The hardness of the claimed material is increased due to the decomposition of cobalt oxide Co 3 O 4 into components Co 2 O 3 and CoO at a temperature of 1240 C (CO 3) 4 = Co 2 O 3 + CoO). Cobalt oxide Co 2 O 3 increases the hardness of the silver matrix and retains its finely divided microstructure; formation of yttrium carbides at 3700 о С (2 Y 2 O 3 + 6 С - >> Y 4 C 3 + 3 СО 2 ).
For experimental verification of the claimed composition of the components, eight mixtures of ingredients were prepared (see table).
The materials were obtained by powder metallurgy methods, including the preparation of a mixture from a mixture of powders of silver, cobalt oxide, yttrium oxide and graphite. The grain size of the component parts was up to 40 μm.
The material compressed into briquettes with a pressure of 50 MPa, followed by sintering at 300-320 ° C, a pressure of 800 MPa with an exposure of 10 min, wire drawing and rolling with intermediate annealing at 400 ° C for 1 h under argon.
Microhardness was measured using a PMT-3 device at a load of 0.2 N.
Electroerosion tests were carried out with DC switching with a power of 2 A, voltage of 36 V, with a contact pressure of 0.2 N, and the number of switching cycles of 50,000. Contact resistance was measured by a voltmeter-ammeter method using a V7-35 digital voltmeter. The change in the mass of contacts was determined by weighing on an analytical balance VLA-200M.
The test results of the inventive sintered material and prototype are shown in the table.
The table shows that the inventive sintered material based on silver for electrical contacts (samples 4-7) has a significantly higher electrical discharge resistance and hardness compared to the prototype, which indicates the promise of using a new material to increase the resource of contact nodes.
An increase in the amount of added additives (sample 8) reduces the erosion resistance of the contact material, and their decrease leads to a decrease in hardness and electroerosion resistance (sample 3).
The use of the inventive material will improve the erosion resistance of the material by creating a heterogeneous structure and dispersed hardening of the silver matrix; increase the hardness by decomposition of cobalt oxide at 1240 ° C, which makes it possible to use this material in an environment with a temperature up to 500 ° C.
