Abstract
Description
The invention relates to ammunition, and in particular to cartridges for throwing powdered substances, mainly to cartridges for special purposes (for example, for marking or immobilizing law-breakers) or practical ammunition.
Known cartridge small arms containing a sleeve with an igniter capsule, propellant charge and powder equipment, and equipment is separated from the powder charge by a burning shell
The disadvantage of this design is that when used for firing short-barreled weapons (pistols and revolvers), the shell cannot burn completely and can injure (especially the eye) the person against whom the weapon is used for marking or immobilization. The small weight and low rigidity of the equipment (in the general case, these are ground organic substances) leads to a sharp increase in the volume in which the combustion of the charge occurs, and therefore the burning rate decreases. In addition, the presence of a passive element (shell) complicates the design of the cartridge and its production.
The aim of the invention is to simplify the design of the cartridge and optimize its ballistic properties (reducing the mass of the powder charge by improving the combustion conditions, reducing its volume, reducing the emission of unburned powder particles and eliminating the escape of shell residues from the barrel channel).
3.This is achieved in a cartridge containing a sleeve with a means of initiation and a powder charge placed in the sleeve, above which bulk equipment is located so that at the upper end of the powder charge by pressing, a surface is formed for its interface with bulk equipment. In addition, in special cases, the optimization of the combustion conditions of the powder charge made of porous pyroxylin powder is achieved by pressing it to a density of more than 0.6 g / cm 3 , the powder charge from spherical varnish powder is more than 1.0 g / cm 3 .
When triggered by the means of initiation, hot gases begin to spread between the grains of gunpowder, igniting them. In this case, when ignited, the pressed surface of the powder charge prevents the exit of gases into the equipment placement zone, which contributes to an increase in gas pressure in the charge itself. The small gaps between the grains of the pressed charge also contributes to an increase in pressure and temperature. Because a more intense process of ignition and burning takes place in the bottom of the charge, the latter acts as a piston, prohibiting significant mixing of particles of loose equipment with unignified or just ignited powder grains. Thus, prior to the destruction of the pressed charge into individual grains and the introduction of these grains into bulk equipment, sufficient heating, intense ignition, and combustion of a significant part of the charge are ensured. In addition, the dense upper end surface of the charge prevents the mixing of two media (gunpowder and equipment) during storage and movement of the cartridge.
Shooting experiments show that a sharp decrease in the muzzle flame (actually ejection of unburned particles of gunpowder) and an increase in the rate of release of loose equipment from the barrel bore take place when the powder charge is pressed to form its interface with loose equipment. When using the most commonly used gunpowder in handguns (porous pyroxylin and spherical lacquer maximization of the speed of departure of equipment is achieved with a powder charge density of more than 0.6 g / cm 3 and 1.0 g / cm 3, respectively.
The drawing shows a cartridge.
The small arms cartridge contains a sleeve 1 with initiating means 2, a powder charge 3 pressed from the surface or to the entire depth with the loose equipment 4 above it is placed in the sleeve. Irritant substances (such as CN, CS) or other powdery substances can be used as the latter .
When fired, means of initiation 2 are triggered, exciting the process of ignition, ignition and burning of charge 3. In the initial stage of this process, the upper part of the charge ensures the retention of powder gases, increasing the intensity of gas formation, pressure and temperature. The surface (top layer) of charge 3 significantly reduces the mixing of the powder with the substance of the equipment 4. Equipment 4 is forced out of the sleeve 1, acquiring a high speed due to the pressure of intensely forming powder gases.
4. When transporting (shaking, turning over) the cartridge (sleeve 1) due to the hardened pressing surface of the interface does not mix charge 3 with equipment 4.
