Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of metallurgy, and in particular to the design of the section of the arch of electric furnaces, and can be used in other furnaces of metallurgy and the chemical industry, where the durability of the arch is unsatisfactory.
Known inventions in which, with the goal of trouble-free and safe operation, structural solutions of cooled sections of the roof of the furnace are proposed. The proposed solutions do not allow to increase the life of the sections and thereby reduce operating costs for the arch and the entire furnace.
Closest to the claimed is a section of the arch of the electric arc furnace, including a metal cooled case, protected on the fire side by a refractory coating. If there is a layer of protective material on the fire surface of the section, the probability of destruction of the element is practically eliminated due to a decrease in the level of thermal effect on the element. The main reason for the unstable operation of the section is the delamination and destruction of the protective layer of the material due to the large temperature gradient between the cold material of the section and the heat-shielding material.
Tests of the vault section with a refractory coating applied to the fire surface showed that the destruction of the protective material layer occurs due to its delamination and collapse. Detachment of the protective material from the arch section occurs after 15-30 days. The destruction of the protective material leads to an increase in the level of thermal effect on the arch section and burnout of the wall of the cooled arch section. The failure of the vault section causes the furnace to stop to replace the section. The destruction of the protective refractory layer, even if there was no burnout of the wall of the cooled element, leads to an increase in heat loss through the arch, which increases energy consumption and, accordingly, operating costs.
The essence of this solution is that the electric furnace includes a cooled element with a protective material on its fire side, while the cooled element is made of a solid sheet and heat-removing channels on the non-working side, the protective material is multilayer with a thermal conductivity increasing towards the working space, and all elements of the section are interconnected.
The heat-absorbing surface area of the cooled element of the arch section is F = 0.44-4.6 of the electrode cross-sectional area.
The proposed design of the vault provides minimal heat loss from the vault, its high resistance, tightness and allows the possibility of sharp temperature changes during starts and stops of the furnace without violating the operating mode.
The location on the outside non-working side of the whole sheet of the cooled element of the heat-removing channels allows to simplify the design of the cooled element and to organize the guaranteed thermal protection of the fire side of the sheet section. A prerequisite for the implementation of the heat-removing channels on the non-working side of the sheet of the section or element of the section is the integrity of the sheet of the cooled section. Integrity means that the dimensions of the sheet are obtained as a result of rolling and welding of its parts into a single unit is not allowed. The heat-removing channels can be of any shape (triangular, semicircular), and the total length of the channel in one section is determined by the level of heat load.
Fire - the working side of the section sheet is protected by heat-shielding material. The layers of protective material are bonded to each other and the cooled element by at least three threaded connections. At the same time, metal suspensions are embedded in the protective material with a higher thermal conductivity to a depth of 40-50% of the strip thickness to attach layers of protective material to the cooled element. The thermal conductivity of the strip in contact with the firing working atmosphere of the furnace is λ = 0.5-2.0 W / m ˙ о С, and a rod with a diameter of 4-8 mm fixing a threaded connection is also located in it. When using rods with a diameter greater than or equal to 6 mm, they and the heads of metal pendants are covered with a burnable coating, and the vertical parts of the pendants are glued with burnable paper.
The thermal conductivity of the material in contact with the surface of the cooled element is λ = 0.05-0.3 W / m ˙ о С. The thickness of the strip of low-heat-conducting material is 10-30% of the bandwidth of a more heat-conducting material.
The heat-absorbing surface area of the cooled element is determined by the level of thermal load acting on the cooled surface. The surface area F = 4.6 Fel corresponds to the level of heat flux in q = 2.0-4.0 kW / m 2 . The lower limit of the area F = 0.44 Fel corresponds to the level of heat flux q = 50-75 kW / m 2 . Increasing the cross-sectional area F> 4,6 Fel leads to an increase in water temperature at the outlet of the element to the level of 45-55 ° C, in which there is an intense accumulation of salts and hydroxides on the wall element, which leads to a decrease in the intensity of cooling and burnout. The decrease in the area of the element F <0.44 Fel. complicates the design of the arch.
Along with this, the design of the sections of the arch is designed to work from an explosion-proof cooling system. The cooled element itself consists of a solid fire sheet and channels for the passage of the coolant located on the non-working (cold side). To ensure electrical insulation, cooled elements from the outside can be poured with lightweight concrete.
The drawing shows a sectional section of the arch of the electric furnace.
9. The section is a
Implementation example

To date, the cooled elements have been in pilot testing for 3 years. Under normal conditions, sections of the roof in electric furnaces had to be changed once a month. Heat losses from the arch of the indicated design are at the level of heat losses from the refractory arch and are 6-10 times less than from the cooled one.
The pilot tests showed that the proposed design provides a reduction in operating costs due to high performance and lower energy costs.
