Abstract
A method for quantitatively assessing the color sensitivity of the retina photoreceptors, which consists in using tables constructed in accordance with a matrix of contrast optotype tables to determine the contrast sensitivity of the eye, using Landolt rings as geometries whose geometric parameters decrease from top to bottom in vertical columns, corresponding to visual acuity from 0.1 to 1.5, characterized in that for a differentiated assessment of the color sensitivity of each type of photorecept tori that respond only to blue, green or red, use tables whose optotypes are colored either blue, green, or red, respectively, and the color tones in each table are weakened in horizontal rows from left to right, first determine whether the patient perceives the color of the optotypes of one of the tables and, in case of incorrect color sensation, concludes that the color sensitivity of the corresponding type of photoreceptor is lost, and in the case of correct color sensation, the visual acuity of the eye is determined for demonstrated color of optotypes on the left column of the table, then on optotypes in the horizontal line corresponding to the obtained value of visual acuity, identifying the optotypes fix the optotypes with the least weak color and determine the numerical value of the color sensitivity of this type of photoreceptor as a value inversely proportional to the contrast value of the color tone of the optotype, on which identification ended.
