Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a technology for processing thermoplastic polymeric materials and can be used in the manufacture of products from recycled polyethylene.
A known method of processing waste, including grinding, washing, drying, heat treatment and granulation of thermoplastic masses.
п. The method does not allow to process into high-quality products, aged and destroyed by chemically aggressive medium films, pipes, sheets, etc. products.
Closest to the invention is a method of processing waste thermoplastics, including grinding, washing, drying, rolling with simultaneous displacement with modifying additives and granulation.
The method does not allow to process into waste products aged in a chemically aggressive environment, having low melt flow. Recycled polyethylene products have low impact strength, brittle and fragile.
The invention allows to increase the toughness of products from recycled polyethylene and to increase the scope of the method due to the processing of contaminated and aged waste polyethylene with low melt flow.
The goal is achieved in that in the process of polyethylene waste processing, comprising shredding, washing, drying, mixing on rollers, with modifying additives and granulating according to the invention, prior to flaking of polyethylene waste is heated to a temperature of 10-30 ° C below the melting temperature of polyethylene, is rolled on rollers with friction rollers 1.1-1.4 at a temperature of 20-50 ° C below the polyethylene melting temperature, wherein as modifying additives are 0.1-3 wt. % metal oxide powder.
The method is as follows.
Wastes in the form of destroyed, aged containers of mineral acids made of high and low density polyethylene are cut into several parts. Washed with milk of lime and dried. Placed in a gas oven at 75-115 C. Preheat the laboratory rolls with friction rollers from 1.1 to 1.4 at a temperature of 20-50 ° C below the polyethylene melting temperature. A weighed portion of heated waste weighing 0.5 kg is rolled for 5 minutes, changing the gap between the rollers from 2 to 0.5 mm. In the process of rolling, a weighed portion of metal oxide (oxide of manganese, zinc, titanium, calcium) is applied to polyethylene. In the indicated rolling mode, the waste turns into a loose mass of unmelted polyethylene, which is easily removed and transferred to the hopper of the granulator. Samples for mechanical testing are formed from granules by injection molding in standard mode. The results of evaluating the impact toughness of samples obtained in various modes are shown in the table.
