Abstract
Description
The invention relates to medical equipment, in particular to devices for the prevention and treatment of pressure sores at home and in hospital.
Pressure ulcers occur as a result of imbalance in blood circulation during prolonged pressure on individual parts of the patient’s body. One of the methods for the prevention and treatment of pressure sores is the impact on areas of the patient’s body by changing the pressure of the air mattress, consisting of several separate sections and located under the patient.
Widely known methods of controlling the air mattress, which consists in changing the pressure in individual sections of the mattress.
A known method of controlling the mattress, which consists in periodically changing the pressure in one of the available sections of the mattress. A device for implementing this method comprises a mattress, connecting hoses, an air pump and controllable valves provided in at least one of the connecting hoses, wherein the sections of the mattress are combined into two groups independent from each other and placed perpendicular to the patient’s body so that each section of one group placed between sections of another group.
The disadvantages of the known methods are that during operation, the thickness of the mattress varies from a few millimeters at a minimum pressure to a few centimeters at a maximum, which affects the position of the patient’s body. This is contraindicated in injuries and diseases that require the treatment of the patient’s stationary position. Another disadvantage is the long treatment time.
The essence of the invention lies in the fact that in the method of controlling the process of decubitus exposure to areas of the patient’s body, which consists in periodically filling and releasing air pressure in two autonomous groups of pneumatic interconnected sections of the mattress, the patient’s body is affected by cycles, with both groups being filled with air first sections of the mattress, bringing it to a predetermined pressure value, then dump it in the first group, maintaining it in the second group at a given value, after this fill the first group of sections and maintain the pressure in both groups at a given value, and then release the pressure in the second group of sections, maintaining it at a given value in the first group. The time spent by the groups of sections of the mattress under pressure with respect to the time during which one of the groups is without pressure is 3 τ, and the control cycle of one group of sections is shifted relative to the control cycle of the other group by 2 τ. In this case, the parts of the body that come into contact with the sections of the mattress under pressure are subjected to a vibration effect with a frequency of 15-25 Hz and an amplitude of not more than 0.5 mm.
In the device for preventing pressure sores, consisting of a mattress made of two autonomous inflatable groups of sections connected through connecting hoses and controlled by valves with a control unit and an air pump, a vibration compressor is used as an air pump, and controlled valves are placed in each of the connecting hoses .
The control cycle of each group of sections is in two states - under pressure and without pressure, and the time during which the group of sections is without pressure is equal to τ, under pressure -3 τ, and the control cycle of one group is shifted relative to the control cycle of the other group by 2 τ. The patient's body is constantly supported at the same level by one or two groups of sections under pressure. If there is no pressure in the first group, then the pressure in the second group is maintained until the pressure in the first group becomes equal to the pressure in the second. Areas of the patient’s body located above the section groups without pressure restore blood circulation, since they do not experience section pressure and the patient’s body weight. Parts of the body that are in groups of sections under pressure, to stimulate blood circulation, are also exposed to vibration, which is transmitted from the vibrocompressor. This allows you to maintain blood circulation in those areas that account for the patient’s body weight until the pressure in these groups of sections is reduced to a minimum. Thus, the proposed technical solution provides increased blood circulation and reduced treatment time of the patient.
In FIG. 1 presents a device that implements the proposed method; in FIG. 2 - valve control cycles of the control unit.
An example implementation of the method. When air is turned on by a vibration compressor 1 through
For example, after 2 minutes, on command from control unit 3,
Thus, the patient’s body is constantly supported by one or two sections at the same level, and the vibrational impact on the patient’s body is carried out only by sections that are under pressure and have contact with the patient’s body.
