Claims

1. A method for controlling weed growth in a specific area, including the application of (a) 2- (2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonylbenzoyl) -1,3-piclohexanedione or its agronomically acceptable salt or complex with the metal to the said area and (b) triazine herbicide, with the exception of atrazine.

2. The method according to claim 1, where the triazine herbicide is a compound of formula (II)

where R ¹ means chlorine or a linear or branched alkylthio or alkoxy group with 1-6 carbon atoms;

R ² means an azido group, a monoalkylamino group, a dialkylamino group or a cycloalkylamino group in which the alkyl or cycloalkyl moieties may be substituted with one or more substituents selected from a cyano group and an alkoxy group;

R ³ means a linear or branched N-alkylamino group with 1-6 carbon atoms,

or formula (III)

where R ¹ has the above meaning;

R ⁴ means a linear or branched alkyl containing 1-6 carbon atoms.

3. The method according to claim 2, where in formula (II) R ² means an azido group, a linear or branched N-alkylamino group containing 1-4 carbon atoms (where the alkyl part may be substituted by a cyano group or methoxy group).

4. The method according to claim 1 or 2, where the triazine herbicide is selected from simazine, which means 6-chloro-N ² , N ^4- diethyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine, and cyanazine, which means 2- (4-chloro-6-ethylamino-1,3,5-triazin-2-ylamino) -2-methyl-propionitrile.

5. The method according to claim 4, where the triazine herbicide is cyanazine.

6. The method according to claim 1 or 2, where the triazine herbicide is metribuzin, which means 4-amino-6-tert-butyl-3-methylthio-1,2,4-triazin-5 (4H) -one.

7. The method according to any one of the preceding paragraphs, where the consumption rate of benzoylcyclohexanedione is 5-500 g per hectare, and the consumption rate of the triazine herbicide is 250-5000 g per hectare.

8. The method according to any one of the preceding paragraphs, where the consumption rate of benzoylcyclohexanedione is 25-150 g per hectare, and the consumption rate of the triazine herbicide is from 500 g to 1500 g per hectare.

9. The method according to any one of the preceding paragraphs for regulating the growth of grassy weeds in crops of corn.

10. The method according to any one of the preceding paragraphs, where the compounds are used before the appearance of weeds.

11. A herbicidal composition comprising (a) 2- (2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonylbenzoyl) -1,3-cyclohexanedione or an agronomically acceptable salt or complex thereof with a metal; and (b) a triazine herbicide, with the exception of atrazine, in combination with a herbicidally acceptable diluent or carrier and / or surfactant.

12. The herbicidal composition according to claim 11, where the ratio (a): (b) is from 2: 1 to 1: 1000 wt./wt.

13. The herbicidal composition according to claim 11 or 12, where the ratio (a) :( b) is from 1: 4 to 1:60 wt./wt.

14. A product comprising (a) a benzoylcyclohexanedione of formula I according to claim 1 or an agronomically acceptable metal salt or complex thereof and (b) a triazine herbicide, with the exception of atrazine, as a combined preparation for simultaneous, separate or sequential use in order to regulate growth weed in a specific area.
