The method is implemented as follows.
Polymer materials (polyethylene, polystyrene, etc.) were processed on a screw extruder in an amount of 50 kg. During processing, table salt was used as an indicator (any dispersed substance can be used if it was dissolved in water) in an amount of 50 g. The indicator was introduced into the extruder hopper. At the exit of the extrusion head, the processed material was obtained in the form of a strip 3 mm thick. Processing was carried out for 20, 40 and 60 minutes. The width of the strip is 100 mm. Then pieces were cut from a strip 100 mm long. Pieces of material were placed in warm running water and the salt was dissolved from the surface of the cut pieces. After dissolution on the surface of the selected pieces (samples),
Then, on the surface of the selected pieces, after dissolving the salt, they poured
AGA.5 finely divided fraction of the powder. Then, a fine powder was uniformly distributed over the surface of the pieces with a soft brush and the voids were filled with powder. Selected pieces are considered prepared for testing if all the voids of the test pieces are filled with powder to the level of the plane of the pieces. After that, the prepared samples were placed in an oven (chamber) with a temperature of 80 ° C and held for 50 s. We set up an AGA thermal imager.
15 Then the samples were removed from the cabinet and mounted on a tripod. A screen with a 5 mm hole was mounted above the test sample, and the thermal imager was directed to the side of the hole in the screen. The test samples were moved uniformly over the surface of the tripod and the degree of infrared radiation was recorded. Then the sample was shifted by 1 cm, and again moving uniformly, the radiation intensity was determined 5. Then, statistical analysis of the results of the study was performed and the average intensity of the surface of the sample was determined. Conducted statistical processing of the results. Then, the radiation intensity of the surfaces of all samples was compared with each other and a judgment was made on the quality of the mixture. When comparing the quality of samples with a processing time of 20 min, data on the value
5 emissions diverged by 22%, with a processing time of 40 minutes - by 11%, and with a processing time of 60 minutes - by 2.5%. From this we can conclude that the processing time of the material 60 min is quite
0 sufficient to obtain a homogeneous mixture. The discrepancy of 2.5% is explained by the error of the procedure itself.
Using this method, the quality of mixing materials with low thermal conductivity can be investigated.
Thus, the proposed technical solution provides a simpler study of the quality of mixing in comparison with the prototype and an increase in safety, i.e. the method is implemented without the use of radioactive isotopes.
