Abstract
The invention relates to the use of lidar technology in meteorology and atmospheric optics. An atmospheric sensing lidar includes a laser source with a photosensor that generates an electrical start-pulse, an optical receiving telescope, the output of which is a photoreceiver module, a lidar signal recording system whose signal input is connected to the photoreceiver module located on a common platform and rigidly interconnected and sync input to the photo sensor. Between the output of the photoreceiver module and the input of the recording system, there is an amplifier with a time-step gain of electrical signals, the synchronization input of which is connected to the photosensor. At the same time, in the initial period of time counted from the moment of sending laser radiation to the atmosphere, the gain factor has a minimum value, and then increases in steps according to a given law in subsequent time intervals. The technical result consists in providing a uniform error in measuring the intensity of the lidar signal in the whole range of the lidar action. 1 il.
Description
д.The utility model relates to the use of lidar technology in meteorology and atmospheric optics, it can be used to measure the optical and microphysical parameters of the atmosphere, to control the level of atmospheric pollution, to recognize crystalline and highly hazardous clouds, etc.
The method of laser sounding of the atmosphere is based on the effects of light scattering on molecules and aerosol particles of the atmosphere, including the opposite direction in the direction of the radiation source. The optical backscatter signal is fed to the receiving optical telescope, then sent to a photodetector, where it is converted into an electrical signal. The electrical signal is converted using analog-to-digital converters or photon counters into a digital form and is sent for processing to a PC, where information on the parameters of the atmosphere is extracted in accordance with signal processing algorithms.
The main problem of the technical implementation of the method of laser atmospheric sensing is the problem of detecting lidar signals along the sounding path in a large dynamic range of their change, since photodetectors with such a dynamic range do not exist within the linear characteristic of photosensitivity. Suffice it to say that according to the equation of laser sensing of the atmosphere, the signal intensity along the sounding path decreases in proportion to the square of the distance. This means that only because of this factor, the dynamic range of the signal in the altitude interval of 0.1-10 km will be four orders of magnitude.
At present, optical-electronic, electronic, and optical-mechanical methods are used to reduce the dynamic range of signals.
Lidars using opto-mechanical methods consist of a laser source, a receiving telescope, a photodetector connected through a recording system to a computer, and an electromechanical shutter in the form of a disk modulator installed directly in front of the photodetector. A modulator is a disk with holes that rotates at a given speed and periodically blocks the luminous flux. The opaque part of the disk blocks the laser radiation backscattered by the atmosphere from atmospheric layers closest to the lidar, and then when rotating through holes the radiation from the far sensing zone enters the photodetector (Lidar systems and their optical-electronic components ”/ Yu.M.Andreev [and others. ]; Under the general editorship of MV Kabanova, Zuev V.V. Laser sounding of the middle atmosphere / V.V. Zuev, A.V.Elnikov, V.D. Burlakov). The disadvantage of such lidar systems is the inability to obtain information about the atmosphere at the initial significant part of the sensing route, which is usually several kilometers.
Among the analogs implementing the optoelectronic method, there is a polarization lidar for atmospheric sensing, consisting of a laser and coaxially arranged receiving lens, polarizers, an electro-optical shutter and a photodetector (Patent No. 106759). In this lidar, in order to suppress the intensity of the lidar signal in the near zone, a blocking voltage is applied to the electro-optical shutter located directly in front of the photodetector, minimizing the gate transmittance.
The disadvantage of this lidar is the limited functionality due to the nonlinear dependence of the gate transmission on the control voltage, which leads to additional errors in measuring signals in the near zone.
Ближайшее техническое решение к полезной модели, выбранное в качестве прототипа – лидар для зондирования, включающий источник лазерного излучения с фотодатчиком, вырабатывающим электрический старт-импульс, приемный оптический телескоп с фотоприемным модулем и систему регистрации лидарных сигналов патент № 155857.The closest technical solution to the utility model, selected as a prototype, is a sensing lidar, which includes a laser source with a photosensor that generates an electrical start-up pulse, a receiving optical telescope with a photoreceiver module and a patent number 155857.
The main disadvantage of the prototype is that due to the large dynamic range of the lidar signal, its registration with the same degree of error is impossible along the whole route, i.e. in the near and far zones.
The proposed utility model eliminates this disadvantage by providing a uniform error in measuring the intensity of the lidar signal over the entire range of the lidar action.
This goal is achieved by the fact that, unlike the prototype, the proposed model contains an additional electronic block amplifier with a stepwise gain of electric lidar signals connected to the output of the photo module and the input of the recording system. At the same time, in the initial period of time counted from the moment of sending laser radiation to the atmosphere, the gain factor has a minimum value, and then increases in steps according to a given law in subsequent time intervals. Thus, in the utility model, an electronic method is implemented to reduce the dynamic range of a lidar signal before it is digitized in the recording system.
Figure 1 shows a schematic block diagram of a lidar for atmospheric sensing.
4.Lidar contains a
Lidar works as follows.
100.The radiation of the
Thus, the lidar signal arrives at the input of the
