The disadvantages of the device are the relatively small length of the controlled OM, increased requirements for the power of the laser source, a significant error in determining the degree of tension of the OM with changes in the type of OM and its temperature. As practice has shown, even homogeneous OMs of the same manufacturer have a significant variation in OM parameters, including the characteristics of the Mandelstam – Brillouin (RMB) scattering spectrum, the analysis of which is used to calculate the degree of OM tension. As a result, when measuring the OM of various types and various manufacturers, the reference channel formed by the first optical splitter, an additional circulator connected to the reference segment of the OM with a terminator at the end.

OBR contains a laser radiation source (L) 1 connected through a pulse shaper (FI) 2 to the input of an erbium optical amplifier (ErU) 3, the output of which is connected to the input of an adjustable attenuator (PAt) 4, the output of an adjustable attenuator to the input of a circulator (C) 5, the first output of the circulator (C) 5 is connected to the optical connector (OS) 6, the second output of the circulator (C) 5 is connected to the input of the optical splitter (OP) 7, the first output of which is connected through the first optical filter (OF 1 ) 8 to the input the first photodetector (FP 1 ) 9, and the second the output is connected through an optical filter (OF 2 ) 10 and tunable under the control of a microprocessor (M) 14, an optical filter (OF 3 ) 11 with the input of the second photodetector (FP 2 ) 12; the outputs of both photodetectors are connected to the microprocessor (M) 14. Instead of the reference channel, which was formed in the OBR prototype, a block for creating a database of Brillouin reflectogram patterns (BFSHR) is introduced (13), which has two-way communication with the microprocessor.
OBR works as follows.
Laser radiation (L) 1 passes through a pulse shaper (FI) 2, which generates pulses of a given duration (depending on resolution) with a given repetition rate (depending on the maximum length of the tested OM and the time of accumulation of measurement results), to the input of an erbium optical amplifier (ErU) 3, from the output of which an amplified signal is fed to the input of an adjustable attenuator (PAt) 4, which sets the optimal power level of the test signal (exceeding the threshold of occurrence of RMB, but less the threshold for the manifestation of other nonlinear effects), depending on the length of the OM and its type, from the output of the adjustable attenuator (PAt) 4, the signal is fed to the input of the circulator (C) 5, and from its output through the optical connector (OS) 6 it is input into the tested OB.
The backscattering radiation from the irregularities of the tested OM, which contains the Rayleigh scattering components (have the same maximum frequency as the laser radiation f L ) and RMB (the maximum frequency of the RMB spectrum is shifted by the Brillouin frequency shift f B relative to the laser frequency f L ), through the optical connector (OS) 6 returns to the circulator (C) 5 and then goes to the input of the optical splitter (OP) 7.
The radiation from the first output of the optical splitter (OP) 7 (the smaller part) is fed to the input of the first optical filter (OF 1 ) 8, which is tuned to the laser frequency (f L ) to extract the Rayleigh backscattering signal, to the input of the first photodetector (FP 1 ) 9. Radiation from the second output of the optical splitter (OR) 7 (most) is fed to an optical filter (OF 2 ) 10, the passband of which corresponds to the band of possible values of the spectrum of the RMB OB, tested by OBR, from the output of the optical filter (OF 2 ) 10 filtered the signal goes to the course of a narrow-band adjustable optical filter (OF 3 ) 11, the passband of which under the control of the microprocessor (M) 14 is tuned in a given frequency range so as to pass the components of the RMB spectrum of the tested OB to the input of the photodetector (FP 2 ) 12 to form the Lorentzian profile of the RMB spectrum and registration of maximum RMB.
In the block for creating the database of Brillouin reflectogram patterns (BFSH) (13), the RMB profiles of various types of OM and various manufacturers are stored, obtained as a result of experimental studies and generated by a special program / Certificate of registration of electronic resource No. 23734. The program for automatic determination of the type of optical fiber by Brillouin reflectogram / I. V. Bogachkov, D. P. Inivatov, A. G. Choban (Russia, Omsk State Technical University). - Publ. 08/14/2018 /, which are used by the microprocessor (M) 14 to select the best template, to set the initial level of the Brillouin frequency shift f B0 (at room temperature and in the absence of OM tension) to calculate the OM tension, the OM classification and the manufacturer. In turn, the RMB profiles and the characteristics of OM measured by this OBR can be entered into the BFSHR for further use.
When the tension is changed, the RMB signal coming from the output of the photodetector (FP 2 ) 12 will have less power than the same signal in the absence of mechanical tension. Since the power reduction can be caused by other factors (temperature changes, OM defects), it is necessary to measure the power of the reverse Rayleigh scattering signal from the output of the photodetector (FP 1 ) 9. The magnitude of the displacement of the RMB spectrum, and hence the degree of tension of the OM, is determined by the measured power levels, as well as f B and f B0 .

В. This will make it possible to detect the location of distributed irregularities in the organic matter and, taking into account formula (3), determine the degree of organic tension (s ε ) / Bogachkov I.V. A Detection of strained sections in optical fibers on basis of the Brillouin relectometry method // T-comm: Telecommunications and Transport, 2016. -
где sε(z) – зависимость натяжения ОВ от продольной координаты z вдоль ОВ; fB0 – начальное значение fB ОВ при отсутствии натяжения и заданной температуре; Cf – коэффициент линеаризации. where s ε (z) is the dependence of the OM tension on the longitudinal coordinate z along the OM; f B0 is the initial value of f B OV in the absence of tension and a given temperature; C f is the linearization coefficient.
75) /:However, the Brillouin frequency shift (f B ) depends not only on tension, but also on temperature (t °), and this dependence is also linear / Bogachkov I.V., Gorlov N.I. Detection of sections with a changed temperature of fiber-optic communication lines Brillouin reflectometry method // Vestnik SibGUTI. - Novosibirsk, 2015. - Vol. 4 (32) (p. 75) /:

Thus, as a result of the introduction of new bonds and elements in the OBR, the permissible length of the controlled OM increases, the accuracy of determining the degree of tension of the OM of various types and various manufacturers increases, and the measurement time is also reduced.
