Устройство содержит направл ющую лыжу 1, жестко соединенную со скобой 2 дл  схватывани  головки рельса. К лыже 1 жестко прикреплен зуб 3. Поверхность направл ющей лыжи 1 выполнена с зубцами 4, наклоненными в сторону скобы 2, котора  выполнена с криволинейными выпуклыми внутренними поверхност ми дл  возможности поворота в горизонтальной и вертикальной плоскост х. Локомотив 6 своим ходом въезжает на лыжи 1, при этом зубь  3 внедр ютс  в почву или цепл ютс  за шпалу и фиксируют лыжи 1. Въезд локомотива 6 на лыжи 1 облегчаетс  тем, что зубцы 4 наклонены в сторону скобы 2, т.е. по шерсти, что предотвращает самопроизвольный откат локомотива 6 назад, т.к. в этом случае движение колес происходило бы против шерсти .
