Недостатками данного устройства являются технически сложный процесс изготовления и замены носителя информации. Это значит, что согласно формуле носитель информации выполнен цельным листом. Замена носителя информации целиком усложняет процесс, в связи со сменой всего носителя, так как правая и левая части носителя информации, содержат как правило, информацию постоянного характера, которая не требует замены такую как - информацию о рекламораспространителе (например правая часть), информацию об аварийно-лифтовой службе или информацию о пользовании лифтом (например левая часть). Проще заменить сменную часть носителя информации, чем весь носитель, который имеет иногда достаточно большие размеры.
