Поставленная задача решается за счет того, что в низковольтном отсеке шкафа КРУ высокого напряжения расположен винтовой механизм, имеющий выход на фасадную панель шкафа, выдвигающийся шток которого через промежуточный вал механически соединен с изоляционной тягой каждой фазы двухпозиционного разъединителя-заземлителя, состоящего из подвижного контакта, двух неподвижных контактов разъединителя и ножа заземления. Быстродействующий заземлитель исключается, в случае, если происходит короткое замыкание (т.к. разъединитель-заземлитель уже заземлен), гашение дуги произойдет в вакуумной камере, которую можно отключить выключателем без каких либо последствий.
