N-(ar)alkoxy-poly-nitro-aniline of general formula (I), where R1=hydrogen atom, a NO2 gp., a lower alkyl gp., -CCl3 or CF3. R2=alkyl gp. (8C max), or CH2C6H5 or CH(C6H5)2 or C(C6H5)3 is prepd. from an (ar)alkoxy-amine and a substd. 2,6-di:nitro-chloro-benzene. Cpds. of general formula (I) are highly efficient herbicides.
