Abstract
Textile yarn sizing compsn contains 0.5-15% hydroxy-ethyl-starch of general formula -O-CH2-CH2-OH on its own or mixed with 0.1-7% starch, modified starches, gums, gelatine, synthetic polymers and copolymers. The compsn. also contains 0.1-1% anionic and/or polyethoxylated and/or propoxylated glycerol, 0.1-1% lubricants, 0.1-1% solvents, as petroleum-ether, di:choro-ethane, iso-propyl-alcohol, petrol-ether etc. 0.01-0.1% electrolyte. percentages are based on yarn weights.
