Abstract

The invention relates to a smoking article as smokeable products such as cigarettes, cigars and cigarillos whether based on tobacco, tobacco derivatives, expanded tobacco, reconstituted tobacco or tobacco substitutes and also heat-not-burn products and aerosol generating products, such as e-cigarettes. According to the invention, the smoking article includes a filter arrangement comprising two filter sections (12 and 24), the second filter section (24) being located downstream of the first filter section (12), a ventilation arrangement consisting of two ventilation zones (15 and 16), configured to provide a user-controllable level of ventilation into the first filter section (12), a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the second filter section (24) which is lower than a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the first filter section (12), and a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the filter arrangement which remains substantially constant as the level of ventilation is varied.
