Abstract

The invention relates to a hexagonal coffee table that allows the user to change and customize the central part of the table top as well as to store objects in the drawers incorporated under the top. According to the invention, the table consists of two hexagonal surfaces (2 and 3), a top one and a bottom one, which represent a table top and a truncated pyramid, respectively, the two hexagonal surfaces (2 and 3) being joined by means of three oblique posts (4) placed at three of the six non-consecutive corners of the hexagonal surfaces (2 and 3), the table top (2) containing a hexagonal central cutout (5) with a step-like edge in which various elements can be inserted, such as a hexagonal secure glass or plexiglass plate (9) or a metal grid (10) divided into equilateral triangles, where decorative objects may be showcased, for aesthetic purposes, as the user desires.

Customizable hexagonal coffee table.

The present invention refers to a furniture product, namely a coffee table with a hexagonal top, which allows the user both to modify and customize the central slope of the gap and to store objects in the three drawers, incorporated under the top. The table can be modified by the user, respectively the central portion of the coffee table gap is modified, meaning that it will generate various models with the help of ceramic or glass plates placed on a metal grid or with the help of a safety glass plate or Plexiglas, as the user wishes, for using the three storage spaces under the table top like a showcase, exposing the stored objects. The modifications and personalization feature consists of alternating gaps and ceramic or glass tiles, allowing the user to create a display case (through the counter) exposing the stored objects or to create various variations of colors and patterns through the tiles placed on the metal grid.

Common coffee tables often have a square, rectangular or circular gap shape supported on three or four legs and play an important role among pieces of furniture. They are produced to perform certain functions, the main service being the support of glasses, mugs or various objects, at a certain height. There are many known coffee table models that have incorporated a storage space, but they do not offer the features of customizing the gap or the features of displaying the stored objects, in a single object.

The problem that the proposed invention solves is to offer users a piece of furniture that can change its appearance, as the user wants, as well as the possibility of displaying some objects or arrangements, for the purpose of beautification and decoration. The desire is to create a coffee table that combines aesthetics with more functionality than an ordinary coffee table and to offer the user as much creative freedom as possible, personalizing his piece of furniture.

The upper part of the table (1) has the shape of a pyramid-turned trunk, with a hexagonal base, and is supported by three legs (6) in the form of sectioned cones that thin out at the bottom, as it approaches the ground. The upper component of the table (1) is formed by two hexagonal plates that form the upper surface, i.e. the top itself (2) and respectively the lower surface (3), of the hexagonal pyramid trunk. The joining of the two surfaces (2)(3) is achieved by three oblique pillars (4) positioned at three of the six non-consecutive corners of the hexagonal surfaces (2)(3). The top of the coffee table (2) contains a central hexagonal hollow (5) with a step-shaped edge, which will allow various modifications, i.e. the personalization feature of the coffee table. The lower surface (3) contains 3 shallow recesses (7) in the form of rectangles with rounded corners, positioned below the center of the 3 drawers (8). These hollows (7) are made to ensure the stabilization and correct positioning of the drawers (8) in the upper part of the table (1).
