Abstract

The invention relates to a power socket/plug used to connect mobile receivers to the electric system in civil buildings or dwellings. The invention relates to electrical sockets and plugs that connect mobile receivers to the electrical network in civil buildings and homes.

Bipolar sockets and plugs are known, with or again earthing, which in their traditional form connect mobile receivers to an electrical network and that's about it. in the case of sockets, time has brought some improvements such as:

light signaling of the presence of voltage;

the possibility of disconnection from the mains through a built-in manual switch;

equipped with USB outputs, etc.

The analyzed equipment has the following disadvantages:

they do not detect the heat released by faulty sockets or plugs in time, or at all, and when they do it is often too late;

their response to this problem is to disconnect from the network which in some cases is not desirable, an early warning and then disconnection would be preferable.

There are thermal relays with a reset button mounted on electric motors and pumps with the role of disconnecting from the mains when they sense the temperature rising above a certain level.

The invention solves the problem of early detection of the temperature increase in the microclimate inside the socket boxes or in the plug casing.

According to the invention, sockets and plugs are equipped with an electronic circuit having

1/3 main components a thermal relay, a buzzer and an LED with the role of signaling the reaching of a preset temperature, before the caloric phenomenon due to a malfunction becomes dangerous.

The invention presents the following advantages:

prevents the occurrence of fires from the electrical installation and implicitly what they entail: loss of human life, material damage, etc.;

extends the life of equipment by signaling malfunctions that result in temperature rise;

insignificant expenses for the transition from the production of ordinary sockets and plugs to those equipped according to the invention;

signals if an outlet is overloaded;

the fact that it "signals" does not "disconnect" from the mains (the disconnection remains at the expense of the differential fuse in the switchboard - assuming it exists) is very important in ATI rooms in hospitals;

the small volume of the electronic components used makes it possible to incorporate them without problems into existing 16A / 250V SUKO sockets and plugs.

in what follows, a detailed description of the object of the invention will be made, in connection with figure 1, which represents the electrical diagram of the electronic assembly, the same for both the socket and the plug.

The sockets and plugs, according to the invention, are absolutely normal sockets and plugs with grounding, of the SUKO type of 10 - 16A / 250V which offer a generous space to mount inside them between terminals 1 and 2 the assembly in figure 1. The electronic assembly being identical for both sockets and plugs we will treat them as a unit, 1 and 2 being the connection terminals for socket sheaths or for the contact pins of the plugs.

If the ambient temperature in the microclimate of the socket box or plug housing reaches a predetermined value, say 40°C, then the normally open thermal relay, marked 3, closes the circuit to the rectifier bridge 4 which in turn activates the buzzer 5 and the LED 6. The annoying sound of the buzzer 5 draws attention to the appearance of a potential danger in the electrical installation, and the LED indicates the place of the problem. If the electrical installation were correctly executed and correctly operated, the 2/3 jul mount in figure 1 would not make its presence felt. Once activated, the "alert" does not stop until the temperature in question drops below the set value, otherwise it works until the end...

We notice that when thermal relay 3 is open (NO), there is no additional electricity consumption. in operation measurements made on an experimental setup show U = 1.95 V d.c. and I = 4.4 mA, so 0.0085 W.

There is no difficulty for sockets and plugs equipped according to the invention to enter the production of specialized factories.
