Abstract

The invention relates to a multifunctional contactless card, to a reader - writer device and a configuring method. The claimed card comprises one microprocessor (101) or two microprocessors (101A and 101B) at least one contactless data communication interface to ensure communication with at least one contactless data communication interface of an external contactless device (200, 300 and 400) and at least one internal memory in which at least two applications or functionalities or configurations (A, B, C) are stored, each of said them being correlated with one of the microprocessors (101A, 101B, 101) or with one electronic selection signal (F, F, FAB) which can be processed by at least one of the microprocessors (101A, 101B, 101), it is provided with at least two electronic induction components (104A, 104B, 102A and 102B) which are arranged each in one end area (A, B) of the multifunctional contactless card (100) and as furthest as possible from one another and comprises an automatic functional selection circuit (106) which determines the levels of at least one physical characteristic (Vand V) of the electromagnetic induction effects produced within each component (104A, 104B, 102A and 102B) when the card (100) is placed with only one of its ends (A or B) or with its entire body in the proximity area of the device (200, 300 400), and the device is provided with two distinct active antennae (301A and 301B) for emitting and receiving electromagnetic waves, which are arranged in the vicinity of one another in an arrangement such that when a card (100) is placed in the device area of proximity for contactless reading-writing, one of the antennae (102A or 102 B) or one of the secondary coils (104A or 104B) of the card (100) overlaps one of the active antennae (301A or 301B) of the double device.
