Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the separation of tetraethylene glycol from the mixture of polyethylene glycol by fractionary distillation. The mixture is introduced directly in the reboiler (R1) of a column (CL-1) and at a pressure ranging from 3 to 10 mbars and at the temperature ranging from 160 to 180° C . The tetraethylene glycol together with the lower glycols are separated at the top of the column (CL-1) and fed into the second fractionary column (CL-2) which separates the tetraethylene glycols from the other lower glycols.
