Abstract
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus adapted to be guided by an energy beam along a predetermined sight path towards a deep target. According to the invention, the method consists in illuminating the predetermined path, adapting an apparatus so as to emit visible light when axially aligned with the predetermined illuminated path, aligning the light beam apparatus so as to emit visible light, moving the apparatus along the predetermined path while monitoring the visible light emitted by the apparatus and inserting the apparatus into the body while continuing the monitoring of the visible light emitted by the apparatus. The claimed apparatus comprises an instrument (400) adapted to be guided by an energy beam (66) along a predetermined sight path (65) towards a deep target (50), the instrument (400) having an elongate energy transmitting portion (430), provided with a proximal end (451) and a distal end (452) as well as other means (440) for reaching the target (50) through a transdermal way and energy-sensitive means (425) for dispersing visible light whenever the means (400) for reaching the target (50) and the elongate portion (430) are axially aligned with the energy beam (66).
