The invention relates to a collagen-based bioartificial reactive material used as chemical sensor for noxious substances and to a process for preparing the same. According to the invention, the reactive bioartificial material comprises 20...40% collagen, 5...25% reactive copolymer, 20...40% water-soluble synthetic polymer, 0.1...0.5% aminooctane, 0.5 ...1.5% dimethylformamide and up to 100% water. According to the invention, the process consists in mixing a mixture comprising 20...40 parts by weight collagen fibre, functionalized with remains of acryloyl, 100...200 parts by weight 10 % water-soluble synthetic polymer solution, having a pH of 6...9 and 50...250 parts by weight of 10 % reactive copolymer solution at a temperature of 30 to 50 ° C for 6-8 h, till a paste is formed, to which 0.6...2 parts by weight of a mixture of aminooctane in dimethylformamide is added, continuing the alligation for 2 h, maintaining the temperature constant till a viscous fluid mass is obtained, said mass being stratified at a thickness of 1 to 5 mm on stainless steel strip and dried at a temperature of 60 to 80° C till a moisture content of 5 to 15% is reached.
