Abstract

The invention relates to a roll of electrically melted ceramic material having a ceramic shell (2) fastened onto a cylindrical support (3) made of steel pipe, where the support (3)-shell (2) assembly is secured to a steel driving axle (1), the gap between the axle (1) and the support (3) being filled with diatomite refractory material, the support (3) being centred on the axle (1) by means of some spacers (4) and framed together with the shell (2) by two ceramic conical bodies (5 and 5'), the whole assembly being secured to the axle (1) by means of two stiffening nuts (7).
