Abstract

Additive compsns. for maintaining mortar properties in fresh state (workability, use, reduced segregation) similar to that of mortar with additives is superior to that with lime. The additive comprises 0.8-5 wt.pts. nonylphenolethoxylate with 8-40 moles ethylene oxide, 1.5-6 wt. pts. hydroxyethylcellulose and a viscosity of 15-150 cp. and a concn. of 2% and 20-50 pts. water. The additive is introduced into a mortar press at 2-6.5 dm3/lm3 for mortar cpds. for building and roughcast.
