Medical devices are prepd. for implantation into people by degreasing, cleansing and disinfection. Preliminary degreasing is due to immersion into methylene-chloride for 2-4 hrs. at 30-45 deg.C. This is followed by sec., degreasing with cleansing in a soln. of 5-30g Na-carbonate; 5-30g Na-polyphosphate or 5-20g Na-carbonate and 5-20g tri Na-silicate per 1l of water, for 1-2 hrs. at 80-90 deg.C. The both is agitated manually or dried and filtered air is bubbled through. Articles are washed with distilled water for 1-2 hrs. at 80-90 deg.C under agitation and rinsed 3 times with distilled water at 80 deg.C and 3 times at room temp. until neutral pH is reached.
