Abstract
Di:alkyl-N,N,-bis-(2- hydroxy-ethyl)-amino -methyl-phosphate of general formula (I) (where R = a methyl or ethyl gp.), is prepd. from di:ethyl-amine, paraformaldehyde and di:alkyl-phosphite as 23-24% solids soln. in toluene in the presence of glacial-acetic acid catalyst in 1:1:1:0.05 ratio at 30-45 deg. C for 2-3 hrs. under continuous agitation, followed by completion at 50-60 deg. C with further 2-3 hrs continuous agitation. Solvent is distilled off in vacuo at 40 mmHg pressure and 50 deg. C temp.
