Abstract
The core comprises a low-melting alloy of the type Pb-Sn or Pb-Sn-Sb. It has a surface heat protection layer which can be a refractory paint or an anodised oxide. The core increases the dimensional accuracy and reduces material consumption in the mfr. of castings with complex configuration cavities.
