Abstract

The invention concerns a fluid speed meter and is designed, in particular, for the determination of air speed in mine roadways. The fluid speed meter consists of a cylinder made of non-magnetic material and partially filled with a magnetic fluid on which identical coils are mounted. The cylinder is maintained in a horizontal position on a balance blade with a spring and spring expanders on the cylinder. A plate with set dimensions is placed on the opposite face of the balance blade. The fluid current acts on this plate with a speed that is measured.
