Abstract

The process comprises pressing or ramming a blend of sand, malachite or ceramic chips (ground, washed, dried and ashed, of the 0.3-0.9mm fraction), 0.2-0.4% and an unsatd. polyester resin diluted with styrene to 8-13 poise viscosity. This gives a max. 98 units penetrability on the C scale used for moulding mix, improving vibration proofing. Hardening for 24-48 hours at 20-40 deg.C completes the process.
