Abstract

The process comprises forming an extrudable plastic paste from alpha-Fe2O3 produced through hydrothermal decomposition of alpha-FeOOH at 180-210 deg.C in an agitated autoclave, crystalline potassium carbonate, and water.The autoclaving is carried out in a solid system in suspension at constant vol. and a steam pressure of 16-18 atmospheres. Extrusion is preceded by intensive kneading for at least 30-60 minutes. The catalyst is used on liq. hydrocarbons of high alpha-olefins content.
