Abstract

The egg box consists of a base of a thermoformed synthetic material and a lid of cardboard. The base has six cells (12), each made to receive one egg, and at least one of the cells has a rigid base (14) and a deformation zone (16) to facilitate the removal of the first egg from a full box. The rigid base has a flat circular portion in the middle surrounded by concentric ribs (20), while the deformation zone comprises a flat outer ring (24) and ribs between it and the cell wall.
