Desde há vários anos que no cultivo a nível industrial de plantas são utilizados tabuleiros dotados de várias filas e colunas de alvéolos onde se criam as ditas plantas.For several years in the industrial cultivation of plants trays with several rows and columns of alveoli have been used where the plants are created.

Na situação em apreço, interessa considerar, mais particularmente, o caso dos tipos de tabuleiros destinados ao cultivo de plantas pelo método da poda radicular, ou seja o dos com alvéolos sem fundo. É, por exemplo, o do tabuleiro que o requerente do presente modelo de utilidade registou em Portugal sob a figura jurídica de modelo industrial, em 1990, sob o nQ. 21 855. O transporte e armazenamento do referido tipo de tabuleiros, principalmente em fase de cultura, isto é, quando cheios com plantas, sempre constituiu um problema.
