Abstract

The procedure, designed to mold thin sheets from a material which can be poured consists of filling the molding chamber with an appropriate volume of the material, vibrating the material to remove any air and level it, inserting rigid spacers, enclosing the molding chamber e.g. in a rigid frame (1) to resist deformation while the material is setting, and freeing after setting and prior to final treatment. The spacers are in the form of rigid plates (3) set at regular intervals in the mold chamber, e.g. less than 40 mm from one another, while the rigid frame (1) is able to roll or slide relative to them. The lower ends of the mold cavities are closed by seals (16) on supports (9).
