Shaping By String And By Release Of Stress In Plastics And The Like
(AREA)
Abstract
An endless polypropylene loop is made by extruding a tube, cutting into lengths, laterally stretching the lengths and finally twisting them to give the loop. The loop has a length of 7.5 to 35 cm and exhibits a tensile strength of at least 6 Kgs. The extruded tube is 0.031 to 0.1 mm thick and 15-50 mm in dia. The transverse stretching ratio is at least 4 and the length of the cut length of tube is 10 to 60 mm. Provides easy mfr. of strong loops of particular use in packaging purposes.
