Abstract

The invention relates to a bow thruster for ships, comprising at least one propeller (13), driven by one or more engines (11) and built in a housing (5), mounted fixed to the outside of the hull (6). The bow thruster is mounted to the lower bow or lower stern of the ship and serves to facilitate the maneuvering of a ship with little way. By means of the arrangement on the exterior of the ship, application is possible independent of the size or space requirements within the ship.
