Abstract

A curtain rod system has two tubular curtain rods (1a, 1b) fitted to a central console. The console comprises; a wall mounting plate (3), a support bracket (5) and a cylindrical section (6) with the same outer dimension as the curtain rods and coaxial to same. A tensioning tie is fitted inside each curtain rod, secured to the central element with one end and to a clamping means inside each outer end of the rods. The tension tie is set off centre on the opposite side to the load, i.e. under the inside top of each rod, to counteract the bending forces on the rods. The outer clamping means include threaded adjusters to set the tension.
