ESTES ÓLEOS SÃO ADICIONADOS AO MATERIAL CELULÓSICO DE MODO A DOTÁ-LO DE PROPRIEDADES ANTIMICROBIANAS E ANTIOXIDANTES. O MÉTODO DESCRITO NESTA INVENÇÃO RETARDA A LIBERTAÇÃO DOS COMPOSTOS ATIVOS DURANTE A SECAGEM E DURANTE A EXPOSIÇÃO DO MATERIAL CELULÓSICO AO AR. O MÉTODO AQUI DIVULGADO CONSISTE NUMA MODIFICAÇÃO QUÍMICA DE UM AMIDO COM UMA CICLODEXTRINA, SEGUIDA DA DISPERSÃO DESTE AMIDO MODIFICADO, A ALTAS TEMPERATURAS, E SENDO FINALMENTE USADO NUM PASSO DE REVESTIMENTO DE PAPEL, EM CONJUNTO COM O ÓLEO ESSENCIAL DE INTERESSE. O MÉTODO AQUI DESCRITO NÃO NECESSITA DO USO DE SURFACTANTES NEM DE CO-SOLVENTES ORGÂNICOS PARA RETARDAR A EVAPORAÇÃO DOS ÓLEOS ESSENCIAIS ADICIONADOS AO MATERIAL CELULÓSICO E DE ACORDO COM A SUA APLICAÇÃO.THE INVENTION DISCLOSED HERE CONSISTS OF A METHOD OF COATING CELLULOSIC MATERIAL WITH ESSENTIAL OILS WHICH ALLOWS THE EVAPORATION OF THESE ESSENTIAL OILS TO BE DELAYED FROM THE SURFACE OF THE CELLULOSIC MATERIAL. THESE OILS ARE ADDED TO THE CELLULOSIC MATERIAL IN ORDER TO PROVIDE IT WITH ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTIOXIDANT PROPERTIES. THE METHOD DESCRIBED IN THIS INVENTION DELAYS THE RELEASE OF ACTIVE COMPOUNDS DURING DRYING AND DURING EXPOSURE OF THE CELLULOSIC MATERIAL TO THE AIR. THE METHOD DISCLOSED HERE CONSISTS OF A CHEMICAL MODIFICATION OF A STARCH WITH A CYCLODEXTRIN, FOLLOWED BY THE DISPERSION OF THIS MODIFIED STARCH AT HIGH TEMPERATURES, AND FINALLY BEING USED IN A PAPER COATING STEP, TOGETHER WITH THE ESSENTIAL OIL OF INTEREST. THE METHOD DESCRIBED HERE DOES NOT REQUIRE THE USE OF SURFACTANTS OR ORGANIC CO-SOLVENTS TO DELAY THE EVAPORATION OF ESSENTIAL OILS ADDED TO THE CELLULOSIC MATERIAL AND ACCORDING TO ITS APPLICATION.
