The present utility model relates to an automatic blow-off device (DFI), which is in the form of a belt (adjustable according to the waist ) and may be used in aquatic activities (recreational or professional) in all waters by swimmers and non-swimmers and which may be placed directly on the wearer's skin or clothing.
The development of this type of device has mainly been promoted for the sake of the comfort of the bearer. There is a wide range of devices, most of which are classified as type III (designed for protected waters where rescue is rapid) or V (designed for special activities ), depending on the design and purpose for which they are intended. Almost all self-inflating individual flotation devices (DFIs) are based on the same principle of operation: an air chamber to which gas is blown from a cylinder that is coupled to the device and which is inserted into a bag which opens when the deflagration occurs. In the non-deflagration situation these devices do not float or provide buoyancy. In operational terms its general characteristics are to provide buoyancy to the user, ensuring out-of-water maintenance of the airways. However, keeping an individual with a head out of water is not sufficient in situations where the delay is delayed or when the water is too cold. Under these conditions (where body temperature decreases rapidly because body heat transfer to water is about 25 times greater than air), hypothermia is a risk that the carrier of an individual flotation device (DFI) with these features run (including those with which the upper torso (chest) remains out of water). The present utility model of an automatic inflating device (DFI) has adopted as a technical approach the promotion of thermal insulation of the user's trunk as a way to provide protection against hypothermia (maintaining all the operational and comfort characteristics associated with this type of devices) and is composed of a set of 3 elements: the float element (float), the protection element (the lumbar protection strap) and the safety element (belt with locking system, and D ring), interconnected with each other and inserted into a bag. The bag is an integral part of the individual flotation device (DFI) and has the function of packing the elements of the rescue device. In the non-deflagration situation the rescue device is folded inside the bag, constituting the visible part of the device that is placed at the waist. In the situation of deflagration the pouch opens, releasing the rescue device. The opening of the device is carried out upwards, positioning the float element (float) completely inflated under the user's arms to surround the upper thoracic zone and the lumbar protection strap surrounding the lower thoracic zone (between the waist and the chest). The design of said float element (float) has been designed so as to promote a correct positioning and adjustment to the individual's trunk and give greater freedom of movement to the arms when inflated. The lumbar protection strap is attached at one end (bottom) to the pocket and the other (upper) the float and is characterized by panels of a textile structure produced with thermally insulating materials. The design of the elements and the construction of the assembly provide this automatic flushing device (DFI) with increased functionality, which does not exist in the current devices of the same type: protection against hypothermia. The present utility model will now be explained in more detail by the aid of the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 represents the front view of the utility model, in its closed (not deflated) version, with the protective strap and the float element (float) not inflated enclosed in the bag; Figure 2 shows the front view of said utility model, fully open operating condition), with the float element (float) fully inflated, the lumbar guard strap surrounding the user's trunk and said open pocket; Figure 3 shows the rear view of said utility model, fully open working condition), with the float element (float) fully inflated, the lumbar guard strap surrounding the user's trunk and said open pocket; • Figure 4 represents the top view of the float element, with an indication of the various accessory elements, mandatory components in an individual flotation device (DFI).
