Abstract
A float (ball) valve for controlling the automatic filling of reservoirs for liquids, particularly for bathroom cisterns, the novelty of which is that it has a mechanism for hydraulic amplification of the force of the float, allowing a compact construction, rapid filling and silent operation. The hydraulic amplification is obtained through the use of a diaphragm 2 which allows the passage of a small flow of liquid through its orifice 3 to a chamber 5, on which the float 6 acts directly. The action of the float on the secondary flow and the alterations in pressure resulting therefrom force the diaphragm to deform and to act on the inlet pipe 1, closing it or opening it. In this latter situation, the liquid is able to flow via the pipe 4. <IMAGE>
