A mistura apresenta uma proporção em volume de 30% de alumínio para 70% de liga de alumínio e magnésio. A liga de alumínio e magnésio tem uma proporção em peso de 50% de alumínio e 50% em peso de magnésio. Após a ignição da torcida preparada desta maneira verificou-se que ela apresentava um efeito faiscante, isto é, lançava pequenas partículas luminosas durante a combustão.
