The ornamentation of the external surface of the door fitting, according to the industrial design, is characterized by being formed by a replaceable decorative plate and two protrusions, in the form of angle brackets, the upper arms of which face each other so that the protrusions form guides for the replaceable decorative plate. The color of the replaceable decorative plate differs from the color of the door fitting surface. The wall of the door fitting on which the ornament is located has, in particular, a cross-section in a shape similar to: a straight line segment; an arc; A straight line segment with an embossment that creates a recess on one side of the wall surface and a convexity on the other; an arch with an embossment that creates a recess on one side of the wall surface and a convexity on the other. The projections are in the form of angle brackets, the free arms of which have, in particular, a cross-section in the shape of a straight line, rectangle, semicircle, or triangle. Besides their decorative function, the projections also act as a guide for the replaceable decorative plate and secure it to the wall surface of the fitting. Furthermore, the projections conceal any unevenness in the edges of the decorative plate. The replaceable decorative plate is made, in particular, of flexible plastic or paper. Preferably, its surface is decorated with ornaments resembling wood grain. If damaged, the decorative plate can be removed from the projections and replaced with a new one. The decorative plate also serves to mask any imperfections that may be present on the outer surface of the fitting.
