Description

Goulding i B.V.,Jarrett- Nuci. Instr.Meth., 101, 127 (1972) sklada sie z plytki krzemowej typu p o grubosci kilku milimetrów pokrytej zjednej strony warstewka zlota tworzaca bariere powierzchniowa, a z drugiej strony litowa warstewka n: Warstewka litowa jest przerwana wybraniem dzielacym ja na dwa obszary, obszar zewnetrzny w ksztalcie pierscienia i obszar wewnetrzny w ksztalcie kola. Przeciwlegle krawedzie scianek wybrania w przekroju plytki sa równolegle do siebie, a odleglosc krawedzi stanowiacej dno wybrania od warstewki zlota wynosi okolo 1 mm. Wybranie w plytce detektora okresla i czesciowo ogranicza skompensowana objetosc czynna detektora. 1 przedstawia przekrój osiowy detektora, a fig. Wybranie 4 okresla i czesciowo ogranicza skom¬ pensowana objetosc czynna 5 detektora. Scianka 6 wybrania 4 czesciowo ograniczajaca skompensowana obje¬ tosc czynna 5 przecina sie z druga scianka 7 wybrania 4 pod katem 45°.Kat 45° pomiedzy sciankami 6 i 7 wybrania 4 umozliwia przylozenie dostatecznie duzego napiecia polary¬ zujacego detektor tak, ze polepsza sie zbieranie nosników ladunku generowanych przez promieniowanie jadrowe.Ulega równiez poprawie rozklad natezenia pola elektrycznego w skompensowanej objetosci czynnej 5. PLThe subject of the invention is a spectrometric detector of Si (Li) nuclear radiation widely used in non-destructive fluorescence analysis in industry, geology, medicine and scientific research. The known Si (Li) detector described by D.A., Landies, F.S. Goulding and B.V., Jarrett-Nuci. Instr.Meth., 101, 127 (1972) consists of a silicon wafer with a thickness of several millimeters covered on one side with a gold film forming a surface barrier, and on the other side with a lithium film n: The lithium film is interrupted by a recess dividing it into two areas, the outer area ring-shaped and inner circle-shaped area. The opposite edges of the walls of the recess in the section of the tile are parallel to each other, and the distance of the edge forming the bottom of the recess from the gold layer is about 1 mm. The selection in the detector board determines and partially limits the compensated active volume of the detector. The disadvantage of the known detector is the fact that despite the complicated technological treatment aimed at enabling the translation of the highest operating voltages, it is possible to apply a working voltage of only about 200 V / mm. Si detector (Li ) of the nuclear radiation according to the invention has a recess in the lithium film with a shape such that the wall of the recess partially limiting, the compensated active volume intersects with the beam of the recess wall at an angle of about 45 °. The design of the Si (Li) detector according to the invention provides such a distribution of the electric field intensity on areas responsible for breakthrough noise, that the value of the operating voltage is higher than in the previously known detectors and amounts to about 400 V / mm. The value of the operating voltage determines the rapid collection of charge carriers generated under the influence of nuclear radiation in a compensated active volume and the appropriate field distribution in this volume. The Si (Li) spectrometric detector according to the invention is shown in the example of the embodiment in the drawing in which Fig. 1 shows an axial section of the detector, and Fig. 2 the detector in plan view. As shown in Fig. 1, a silicon wafer 1 is covered on one side with a gold film 2, and on the other side with a lithium film 3 which is interrupted by a recess 4 dividing it into two regions, outer area A2 85 558 in the shape of a ring and inner area B in the shape of a circle. Selecting 4 determines and partially limits the compensated active volume 5 of the detector. The wall 6 of the recess 4 partially limiting the compensated active volume 5 intersects the other wall 7 of the recess 4 at an angle of 45 °. charge carriers generated by nuclear radiation. The distribution of electric field intensity in the compensated active volume is also improved.
